A Grá Mo Croí (My Hearts Desire) – is a traditional Irish cottage in Roads/Kells. At the end of a small drive it is set against the backdrop of the mountains offering panoramic views of Dingle Bay, the Dingle peninsula, the Blasket Islands and the Atlantic Ocean. Enjoy the beautiful garden and the privacy of two acres of private land. Relax into the cosiness of an open fire after coming back from a walk taking in the clean sea air. Downstairs: Living room, complete kitchen with dining area, bedroom with bunk beds, bathroom with a bathtub, separate WC. Upstairs: 1 bedroom with a double and single bed, 1 bedroom with two single beds, 1 shower/bath with WC. The house accommodates five people comfortably. About 3km away you find a lot of craic at the local pub, Caiteen Baiters, with traditional Irish music on many nights, a beautiful panoramic restaurant with a mini shop, a souvenir’s and a petrol station is about 5 km away. The small town of Cahirciveen you reach in about 20 minutes by car. Tralee, Killarney and the Kerry County Airport can are about an hours drive away. There is lots to do, like go for a trip to the Skellig Rocks on a boat and see the settlement where monks used to live at about A.D. 795, or visit the radio station with its first trans-Atlantic telephone cable, the weather station, the slate quarry on Valentia Island to name but a view things. O’Neill’s restaurant, “The Point” in Reenard, serves wonderful fish fresh from the Atlantic. That is if you do not want to catch it yourself.

General Information on Kerry: The Iveragh Peninsula (Irish: Uíbh Ráthach) is located in County Kerry in Ireland. It is the largest peninsula in southwestern Ireland. A mountain range, the Macgillycuddy's Reeks, lies in the centre of the peninsula. Carrauntoohil, its highest mountain, is also the highest peak in Ireland. Towns on the peninsula include Killorglin, Cahersiveen, Portmagee, Waterville, Caherdaniel, Sneem and Kenmare. The Ring of Kerry, a popular tourist trail, circles the coastline, beginning and ending at Killarney, just east of the peninsula. Valentia Island lies off the northwestern tip of the peninsula. It is connected with the peninsula by a bridge at Portmagee village, but it can also be reached by ferry crossing between Renard Point on the mainland and Knightstown on the island. The Skellig Islands lie about 12 kilometres off the west coast and are known for their monastic buildings and bird life.

The Dingle Peninsula stretches Westward for 50 km (30 miles) from Tralee to Dunquin. the western end of the Peninsula has magnificent coastal scenery and is an Irish speaking district. Many famous festival are held in Kerry each year. Listowel has its Writers Week, Tralee offers the famous Rose Festival, Killorglin the Puck Fair. Kerry Geopark is a community initiative on the Iveragh Peninsula which aims to promote geotourism in this area of high geological importance. Some of the interest features are Kenmare Bay (a drowned river valley or ria), signs of past glaciation and volcanic activity and 400-million year old fossilised tetrapod tracks.

No trip to Kerry is complete without including the panoramic Ring of Kerry drive on the Iveragh Peninsula. It stretches South West from Killarney for 65km (40 miles) and takes you through the towns of Kenmare, Sneem, Waterville, Cahirciveen, Glenbeigh, and Killorglin.

Nach mehreren Urlauben in Irland/Co.Kerry haben wir den "Herzenswunsch" gefunden, der dem Namen nur Gerecht wird. Die Lage des Hauses ist grandios - die Aussicht demnach unbezahlbar. Die Einrichtung und der Stil des Hauses ist wohnlich, gemütlich und nach irischem Stil nachempfunden. Ausflüge auf dem Ring of Kerry, zu den Skelligs oder zum Killarney NationalPark sind alle mit dem Wagen gut zu erreichen und die Infrastruktur ist typisch irisch - kleine Geschäfte mit liebevolle Betreuung oder grosse Stadt mit hektischem Treiben.
Die Vermieter sind unschlagbar in der Betreuung; beantworten fachgerecht jede Frage und geben wirklich brauchbare Tipps.
Dieses Haus ist für Familien mit zwei/drei Kindern ab 3 Jahren oder mit 4/5 Erwachsenen einwandfrei bewohnbar!

Wir waren das erste Mal in Irland und werden mit Sicherheit wieder kommen, das Land und seine Bewohner sind ein Traum.
Das Ferienhaus hat eine herrliche, ruhige und einsame Lage und der Blick zur Bucht und zur gegenüberliegenden Dinglebucht ist überwältigend. Das Haus ist sehr gepflegt und mit Allem ausgestattet, was man sich nur wünschen kann; es fehlt überhaupt nichts. Es vermittelt von Anfang an eine Atmosphäre, in der man sich sofort zu Hause fühlt.
Der Kontakt zu den Vermietern ist super freundlich und man bekommt sehr hilfreiche Anregungen, die Irlandneulingen den Start sehr erleichtern.

....führte uns im Juli in dieses wunderschöne Ferienhaus. Die Beschreibung und die Fotos haben nicht zuviel versprochen. Es war in jeder Hinsicht ein wunderbarer Urlaub. Austattung und Lage und der tolle Kontakt zu den Vermietern liessen von Anfang an keine Wünsche offen. Wir haben geschlafen wie die Babys und uns unglaublich erholt... und das vom ersten Tag an. Wir werden ganz bestimmt wieder kommen und jedem erzählen, wie toll es war. Vielen Dank das wir Ihre Gäste sein durften.

Unser erster Aufenthalt in Irland - und sicher nicht unser letzter. Wir haben eine traumhafte Woche in diesem wunderschönen Haus verbracht und unglaubliche 8 Sonnentage mit den entsprechenden Sonnenuntergängen über der Dingle Bay erlebt.
Bereits im Vorfeld wurden wir bestens und sehr freundlich von der Vermieterin informiert. Vor Ort entsprach alles den gemachten Angaben. Das Haus war in einem sehr guten Zustand.
Ausstattung und Lage des Hauses sind nicht zu übertreffen. Erholung pur und Balsam für die Seele.
