Mas le Grillon, Hameau de Laucire. The property dates back with its history of origins to the 11th century. Since 18th century it’s been having its current form. The house together with its both tower-shaped next-door houses were completely renovated and restored last year. It consists of 3 separate, free standing units: Tour Ourne, the main house, and Tour Gardon.

From Tour Gardon you have a beautiful view over the Gardon Valley with its vine yards, the Chateau de Tornac, and the “Gate of the Cevennes Mountains”. From the terrace of the tower, there is an access to the garden with its seats. The tower comfortably accommodates 4 people, and can be lived in all the year through.

The property is located ca. 200 m high, in a small hamlet (Hameau), at the margins of Cevennen and offers a wonderful view upon the vine yards and the hilly landscape of Gardon Valley. Supermarkets, shops, restaurants and medical care can be found in Anduze, approx. 5 km away. The area offers lots of sport activities, such as riding, canoeing, climbing, cycling, hiking, swimming and more. There is also enough change for people interested in culture: the history of the Hugenottes, sericulture, pottery and Bambouseraie are connected with Anduze and the Cévennes. For people looking for 'Laisser-Faire', there are many cafés, bistros and a wonderful landscape.

In Tornac hatten wir unseren allerersten Urlaub in Frankreich verbracht. Das Domizil haben wir wie beschrieben vorgefunden. Vom Vermieter wurden hilfreiche Informationen über die Umgebung gesammelt und zur Verfügung gestellt.
Der Turm war mit allem ausgestattet was ein Selbstversorger so braucht. Es war romantisch, ruhig, und natürlich erholsam. Besonders haben wir unser alltägliches (maßloses) Frühstück auf der Terrasse genossen. Danach ging es jeden Tag auf Tour zu Fuß und mit dem Auto.

Der Vermieter ist bestens kundig über die Umgebung und ebenso vertraut mit den Gewohnheiten der Franzosen. Seine Tipps repräsentieren Wissen eines Insiders und sollten auf jeden Fall untersucht werden. Alles in allem, wir werden auf jeden Fall wieder bei Michael Urlaub machen. Es lohnt sich.
