Manacor:
Manacor is regarded as the second most important town in Majorca. Well known for it’s furniture industry and artificial pearl production, Manacor lies at the spur of the “Sierra Levant” and was founded in the year 1300 by Jaume II. The most important sights are the “Torre de ses Puntes” from the 14th century, the Dominican monastery “Sant Vincenc Ferrer” and the baroque monastery of “Santo Domingo”. The chalky soil of the region has facilitated the hollowing out of a number of caves in the nearby area. The town of Manacor itself has supermarkets, a clinic, restaurants, cafés, a multitude of shops and a charming pedestrian area for shopping and strolling.
Cala D'Or:
The centre of Cala D'Or( the white town by the sea) offers you the most comprehensive range of leisure activities on the east coast. Restaurants, shops, bars and boutiques make up some of the wide palette of possibilities. It has also what is possibly the best private harbor in Majorca. Every year the elite of the European luxury yachting set berth there. The Vall D'Or golf course, one of the best golf courses in Majorca with it's newly renovated clubhouse and views over the Cala D'Or and the bay of Porto Colom, is located 6 miles away. Regular golf lessons for beginners and advanced alike are offered here in German, English and Spanish. This fine location is worth a visit even for non-golfers.
