Allgaeu/Bavarian Swabia/Lake Constance holiday apartment: Bad Hindelang

Wir sind aus England nach diesem Haus gekommen. Es war wunderbar – grosszügig, bequem und sehr sauber. Nur die Küche war etwas klein, aber jeder von meinen Kindern hatte ein Schlafzimmer, weil gibt es hier drei. Man kann in der Nähe sehr gut Essen finden und natürlich sind die Ortsbiere ausgezeichnet.

Die Vermieterin war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit und mit dem Internet könnten wir ?ffnungszeite und das Wetter entdecken. Wir haben natürlich Neuschwanstein besucht, auch den Bodensee.

Aber zu Hause war die Aussicht fantastisch. Wir wollen zurückkommen!

ENGLISH – I can’t rate this house highly enough and we would love to go back! It is spacious, comfortable and clean with a lovely veranda, from which you can watch the mountains as the light changes. The kitchen/dining area was a touch small, but this was because room has been made for a third bedroom – a godsend with two teenagers and often difficult to find.

If you don’t want to eat in, there is a fantastic restaurant/beer garden right next door, which serves some of the best food we’ve had in Germany. The friendly landlady has beers in the cellar, but be sure to try all the local varieties! They are really good.

The landlady can also provide a lot of local knowledge, or if you want to go further afield you can check opening times and weather via the wireless internet. We went to Neuschwanstein and Linderhof castles and Oberammergau. We also took a paddle steamer trip on the Bodensee (Lake Constance). Austria and Switzerland are just a short drive away, but remember to spend some time at home looking at the local mountains! The little one opposite can be walked up, climbed, ridden up, cycled down – and that’s just in the summer! This whole area of course is good in the winter but as a summer holiday it was unbeatable.
