Koserow, approximately convenient in the centre between Karlshagen and Ahlbeck, at the narrowest place of the island Usedom, between Baltic Sea and Achterwasser, is unique and multiform in its nature. Whether bathing-with friends, sailor, surfer, wanderer or bicycle-wanderer, everyone has its fun. A special attraction proceeds from the highest elevation of the island Usedom, the Streckelsberg with its 60 m height. From its steep bank a beautiful view is offered to the viewer on the sea. From here you can recognize the hill country of Mönchgut on the island Rügen with clear view westward; and often also the chalk rock of Stubbenkammer. In northwest line of sight you can see the island Oie, which makes attentive by the signal lights of their lighthouse on itself particularly in the evening. If you look in southeast direction, you can recognize the steep banks of the neighbour island Wollin. Further objects of interest are the salt huts of Koserow. These were established around 1820.
