Things to do besides sea and pool:
To satisfy everyone's very own wishes, there are many possibilities for leisure and multiple activities in the area. Excursions to Alicante, Santa Pola, Elche/Elx, Torrevieja, Orihuela, Benidorm or Murcia by car show you the beautiful area of Costa Blanca South. Tennis courts (at camping place La Marina) or horse rides close to pine forests or beaches, sailing in the ocean, shopping in the shopping centre or at the numerous weekly markets in the region, water parks, golf, etc. There are many and diverse possibilities.
For children:
As we have two children some recommendations to do:
Santa Pola Park: carnival with various attractions located on route N332 (8 km from La Marina);
Rio Safari Park Elche: different animals including elephants, zebras, monkeys, giraffes, snakes etc. between Santa Pola und Elche, (located 15 km from La Marina);
Aqua Park in Torrevieja: large pool area with children's slide; open from June 15. til September 15. On route N332 toward Torrevieja (located 15 km from La Marina);
Terra Metica: largest amusement park in Spain; many attractions with the theme of the Middle Ages. On route A7 in Benidorm (75 km from La Marina);
Mundomar in Benidorm: amusement park around the sea (dolphins, fishes,...);
Kart-Racing: there are several kart-racing places in the area; the nearest is south of La Marina at the N 332.
Golf:
With more than 20 golf places, some are the best ones in Europe; the south Costa Blanca offers superb possibilities for golfing. Some places which I have tried myself:
