Hiking:
An almost infinite choice of trails and routes characterize the vacation and hiking paradise of Engadin/St. Moritz. Many comfortable cable cars from and around the area of St. Moritz give access to the Piz Nair, Corvatsch and Diavolezza, three mountain peaks with an altitude of more than 10,000 ft, and to numerous vantage points, such as Corviglia, Signal and Muottas Muragl, opening on breath-taking panoramic views. All these renowned mountain tops, like Corviglia and Muottas Muragl, are starting points for many panoramic hikes whose magnificence and density is world-unique and which harbour many snug mountain restaurants, where visitors may relax, enjoying local specialties. Other than an almost unlimited amount of possibilities for individual hikes, St. Moritz and its neighbouring localities offer guided glacier and mountain tours as well as excursions centring on various topics (geology, botany...) during the summer season.
Ski:
Corviglia, Corvatsch, Diavolezza are synonymous with breathtaking and unforgettable skiing experiences. 60 modern transportation facilities open up on 350 km of snow covered runs at altitudes from 1800 to 3300 meters above sea level. You, too, are bound to find your favourite mountain here - from the well known skiing areas, offering close to everything, to the smaller family ski lifts. Great panoramic restaurants, ski huts and snow bars invite you to enjoy ambiance and prickly après-ski fun.
Golf:
One valley - 5 golf courses. 60 holes! The scenic high Alpine valley Engadine/St. Moritz has also become the golfer's paradise in the Alps – offering five golf courses and 60 holes! Each golf course is unique, a world of its own. Demanding landscaping jutting into forest terrain makes the new par 72 golf course Zuoz-Madulain (designed by the Canadian golf course architect Les Furber) particularly appealing – a challenge even to good golfers! The classical 18-hole course of Samedan beckons at a twenty minutes' drive upstream along the Inn River. At a further ten minutes to the west – at 1,860 m. above sea level - the 9-hole executive golf course set within the Kulm Park in St. Moritz lies in a privileged setting with an incomparable view. This is the area that, already in 1891, was home to the oldest golf course in the Alps, possibly on the entire continent. On the idyllic plain between the lakes of Sils and Silvaplana lie 6 greens with driving range belonging to the golf academy that is based there. The fifth golf course is located at the foot of majestic Tarasp Castle near Vulpera, in the Lower Engadine.
