Photos and Description of this Orvieto holiday apartment

My house is situated in the Etruscan hills between Orvieto and Lake Bolsena, near to the picturesque Castello San Quirico. I have restored this old farmhouse with plenty of love and respect in order to welcome old and new friends to these enchanting and peaceful surroundings. My gorgeous rose garden and a natural pool provide refreshment and relaxation. The house consists of the main house and a small guest house, “Il Falco“. From its panoramic window, you’ll have the view of the huge valley of Tione and if you are lucky, you’ll see the falcons flying. The main house is divided into two entirely independent homes: my private home and the area for guests, an apartment of 90 m2 called “La Rosa”. “La Rosa“ and “Il Falco” can be rented separately, but are also ideal for couples and families wishing to spend time together. I open the pool on May 14th, when the roses are in full bloom.

“Il Falco” (maximum 4 people) extends over two floors. It consists of a bedroom (double bed), a living room with a panoramic view and a sofa-bed for two people, a summer kitchen with a small, covered terrace, and a shower/bathroom. Direct access to the pool and lawn.

“La Rosa“ and “Il Falco” are located in the valley of the Tione springs in Umbria close to Latium and Tuscany. The medieval town of Orvieto with its beautiful sights and its famous cathedral is only 12 km away. Lake Bolsena, the very famous Etruscan lake with its good restaurants, is nearby. Rome and Florence are comfortably reached by the Autostrada del Sole or by train. The entire region is renowned for its pristine, romantic, natural landscapes and its excellent wines. Close to the house, you’ll find well-marked hiking paths leading through chestnut and oak forests to picturesque villages with typical trattorias. World famous medieval towns, Assisi, Todi, Spoleto, Gubbio, Perugia and Tarquinia are ideal destinations for day trips with the car, as well as the beautiful towns of Tuscany: Arezzo, Pienza and Siena.

The bedroom and bathroom are located on the ground floor. A stairway leads to the large living room on the first floor, which is equipped with two sofa-beds. From the living room, the main entrance leads to a lavender-lined garden path. You can access the natural, oxygen-purified (no chlorine) pool (11 x 4.5 m) directly from the ground floor.
