Kefali:-:
The beautiful beaches of Elafonisi are naturally popular with tourists from Chania and can be quite busy especially in high season - so if you want to avoid the hoi polloi its better to go swimming in the morning of towards the end of the afternoon or of course, you can always enjoy the peaceful, sequestered ambience of the pool at Velanos Cottages. In the heat of the day a light lunch in the village and a siesta afterwards is highly recommended and the locals tell us that if include plenty of olive oil and yoghurt in your diet you could well live to be over one hundred.
Quieter Crete:- :
Crete is a much larger island than most people imagine, being 280 kilometres long and up to 64 kilometres wide. There are still a surprising number of unspoilt areas of Crete as yet undiscovered by mass tourism where deserted beaches genuinely still exist, and where you can still wine and dine in the local taverna for astonishingly low prices. We make no bones about the fact that we prefer these quieter places and many of our customers happily share our penchant for exploration, as well as holidays off the beaten track.
