Nestled in hillside within its own gated grounds in a tranquil conservation area with views across a valley of pine forests sits this lovingly restored south facing villa retaining its original character and charm. Terraces with sunloungers and parasols lead to a saltwater pool were you can watch the sunrise and sunset or just sit and read a book, listen to birdsong or the ripples on the water. 'Le Cottage du Loup' sleeps 6. It can be divided into 2 self contained homes to sleep 4 and 2 in the adjoining 'Poets Retreat' guest apartment on the ground floor. The interiors with marble floors have been beautifully restored to create a romantic hideaway with crystal chandeliers and carefully chosen furnishings. The villa is ideal for a romantic getaway, families with older children or friends sharing. The decoratively furnished 2nd bedroom leads onto a terrace also with its own bathroom. 3rd bedroom see Poets Retreat. A hand painted kitchen boasts a large range cooker with large halogen hob.Or cook on the great gas BBQ outside. The Living area has 2 double sofas TV, DVD, CD Player with separate dining area. Le Cottage Du Loup/Poets Retreat is a couple of minutes from La Colle Sur Loup Village with bakers, butcher, supermarket, cafes, restaurants and a short stroll down to the River Loup for a lovely shady tree lined walk along the river bank. St Paul De Vence the 2nd most visited village in France is only a 5 min drive with the world renowned Colombe D'or Restaurant visited by many celebrities and some of the finest art galleries in the country including Foundation Maeght. Other picturesque villages close by include Vence, Tourrettes Sur Loup, Mougin, Grasse, Biot. With easy access all along the coast whether to Monaco and the Grand Prix , Antibes and its yachts, Cannes for the music and film festivals, Nice for its wonderful market in Cours Saleya and new tram system, Italy, St. Tropez. Your options are endless. In Winter skiing is approx 40 mins to Greolieres or slightly further to Isola 2000. Or just while away the hours by the pool watching the sunrise and set escaping the world.

  • SPECIAL NOTE: FLIGHTS ARE NORMALLY CHEAPER ON SUNDAY HENCE OUR CHANGEOVER DAY IS SUNDAY IN PEAK SEASON. IT ALSO MEANS YOU DO NOT NEED EXTRA DAYS OFF WORK.

    THE START DAY IS FLEXIBLE NOVEMBER TO MARCH

    A 50% reservation deposit at time of booking is required and is non refundable. The full amount is payable 8 weeks prior to arrival plus a £750 security/damage deposit to cover any damage or breakages which will be refunded and dispatched within 10 days of vacating the property. There is a £27.00 bank charge for refunds outside the UK. Payment by bank transfer your bank may also charge incoming fees. If the renter cancels the contract within the 8 weeks of arrival no refund is due except the security deposit.


    The security/damage deposit will be refunded within 10 days or vacating the property subject to any losses.

    You are strongly advised to take out fully comprehensive holiday/travel insurance with a cancellation clause.

  • Included in the weekly rental rate is Pool maintenance and gardener, cleaning, bedlinen and towels (not beach towels), air-conditioning, electricity.Cleaning and laundry weekly. To allow for cleaning on handover Le Cottage du Loup must be vacated by 10.00 and is available by 16.00 on arrival. Arrival times unless previously arranged must be between 16.00 and 18.00 hours.

    There is an additional charge for heating in Winter between 1st October and 28th February of £75.00 per week.
  • Please do not leave the air-conditioning/heating on constantly unless in use. Please ensure the windows/doors are closed whilst in use or an additional charge will be due. Thank you.

Marble floors to all bathrooms with towels provided for bathing and additional towels to cover sunloungers but please bring your own beach towels.

Notes: The washing machine and clothes dryer are on the ground floor. Remote controlled air-conditioning is in all bedrooms and the living area. Ample parking is within the gated grounds of the property. The property is not suitable for young children or the infirm due to steep stone steps and terracing of the grounds. Toddlers and young children would need supervision at all times. The photographs do not show the newly erected decorative wrought iron that has been erected around the pool area for safety and to comply with French legislation. The views are still as wonderful. Smoking is only permitted outside. Great care should be taken to ensure any cigarettes or candles are put out before leaving the property or going to bed as this is a conservation area.

A WONDERFULLY RELAXING HOLIDAY

This villa is ideal for a relaxing, quiet, holiday. It has all the comforts of home, away from home and is presented in immaculate condition. The welcome lady met us on arrival from airport, directions to villa were spot on...the journey took only 15mins. She explained everything to us that we needed to know about the villa. Salt water pool is absolutely wonderful, and surrounding patio area perfectly positioned for maximum sun during the day. Owner told us to bring our Sky Card with us, so we had access to all our home tv channels...great advice when you have a 16 year old and a 12 year old. The only thing we found slightly inconvenient was the barbecue being located away from the patio dining area. It was padlocked to a fence away from eating area. La Colle sur Loup is a charming traditional French village, and has some wonderful boulangerie/patisserie. We would, however,recommend going an extra 5 mins by car to either St Paul or Mougins for excellent restaurants. There is a lovely quiet walk along the Loup river just down the road from the villa. A car is essential when staying in this villa. We travelled by train along the coast to Monte Carlo, where we had a lovely day. Beach at Ste Maxime, one hour journey by car, is lovely and has lots of water sports facilities. Alternatively, there are some beautiful quiet beaches near St Raphael. A stroll along the harbour in Cannes is a must....the yachts are just breathtaking. We also took a walk through the narrow streets of the old town. There are some lovely artisan shops here as well as beautiful restaurants too. We had a really memorable 2 week holiday in Le Cottage du Loup, and would highly recommend the villa.

We want all our guests to leave refreshed with wonderful memories of their stay and feel spoilt in lovely surroundings with stunning views. To us that is why we all look forward to the excitement of our holidays and also to returning to somewhere special.

There is just never enough time to see everything with so many amazing places to go close by so we look forward to seeing our guests again.

A wonderful place for our holidays

Many thanks for a beautiful stay. We (parents, two teenager with a girl- and boyfriend) loved the location, the great pool and the environment with the barbecue. The house is just lovely with wonderful decor. It is comfortable with everything you could need in a holiday home.
We used the car to get to the local food market (5 min.), to discover st. paul de vence (10 min.). On the way to antibes is a wonderful beach (20 min.). There is much to see and do. The owners of the house are lovely and always availabe to answer any questions. All in all a wonderful and relaxing place.

Le Cottage sur Loup is an idyllic and private haven in the hills 15 mins. from Nice, however when you are there you feel as if you are a million miles away from the tourist hustle and bustle of the coastline. Within 15 mins.drive one has so much to see - some of the most splendid pieces of art over the past 100 years can be found in the Fondation Maeght in St Paul de Vence or Matisse's Chapel in Vence, not to mention fabulous restaurants in breathtaking settings, as well as the sea nearby. However you really won't want to leave the villa. Carmela and David have created a home from home with such care and attention to detail. The villa could not be more comfortable with a high-end kitchen and great barbeque, so wonderful for dreamy nights watching the stars on the terrace or sipping rose by the pool. I must also mention the super comfortable beds. There are 3 floors each with their own private bathroom and two kitchens, so it is perfect for 3 couples who want their own privacy or indeed a family with teenagers who don't want to be with Mum and Dad all the time! I cannot recommend this blissful haven more and will definitely be coming back in years to come. Thank you Carmela and David for such a heavenly holiday.

There is so much to see and do very close by even in Winter the ski slopes are only about 50 minutes away.We have been privileged to have such wonderful guests. We know how important holiday time is for everyone and so we want our guests to feel spoiled and to feel the magic of The Cote D'Azur.

Everything for a splendid holiday can be found in this spotlessly clean and very well maintained property - with the added luxury of very comfortable beds and seating areas, lovely decor.. all makes for a wonderfully relaxing time, in lovely surroundings... We stayed in Cottage du Loup, at the end of October - beginning of November - weather was a bit mixed - very hot to begin with, and warm enough to sit outside and watch wonderfull sunsets and the gradual twinkling illumination of other houses through the trees - all lovely. Close to many interesting interesting villages and sites, and only 15 mins from Nice airport.
Owner's Response: We are delighted that our guests have had a lovely stay. We try to do everything possible to make our villa special it is important to us that guests have a wonderful holiday in comfortable surroundings whatever the weather. We have had some lovely emails from our guests and so we are happy they have had a good time.

Le Cottage/Poets is a special place and so too have been the people that have visited. We will continue to keep up our standards for any returning or future guests and appreciate any feedback.
