Nestled in hillside within its own gated grounds in a tranquil conservation area with views across a valley of pine forests sits this lovingly restored south facing villa retaining its original character and charm. Terraces with sunloungers and parasols lead to a saltwater pool were you can watch the sunrise and sunset or just sit and read a book, listen to birdsong or the ripples on the water. 'Le Cottage du Loup' sleeps 6. It can be divided into 2 self contained homes to sleep 4 and 2 in the adjoining 'Poets Retreat' guest apartment on the ground floor. The interiors with marble floors have been beautifully restored to create a romantic hideaway with crystal chandeliers and carefully chosen furnishings. The villa is ideal for a romantic getaway, families with older children or friends sharing. Poets Retreat is on the ground floor of Le Cottage du Loup air conditioned being totally self contained within its gated secluded grounds. Recently lovingly restored with original marble floors and air-conditioning it is the perfect Romantic retreat for a getaway for 2. The double bedroom is decoratively furnished with shower room leading of. The living room with sofa and chair with TV, DVD and CD/Radio player being open plan to the kitchen which is fully equiped with internal dining for 2. Double French doors lead off to a private outside covered dining area for 4. The new salt water pool south facing with shallow beach area is on the 1st level with sunbeds and parasols which is shared only with Le Cottage du Loup that sleeps 4.There are beautiful views all around and as the property is south facing you can watch the sunrise or set. Take a book and relax by the pool or find some quiet spot in the grounds at the top of the garden and just listen to the birds or the River Loup.

Le Cottage Du Loup/Poets Retreat is a couple of minutes from La Colle Sur Loup Village with bakers, butcher, supermarket, cafes, restaurants and a short stroll down to the River Loup for a lovely shady tree lined walk along the river bank. St Paul De Vence the 2nd most visited village in France is only a 5 min drive with the world renowned Colombe D'or Restaurant visited by many celebrities and some of the finest art galleries in the country including Foundation Maeght. Other picturesque villages close by include Vence, Tourrettes Sur Loup, Mougin, Grasse, Biot. With easy access all along the coast whether to Monaco and the Grand Prix , Antibes and its yachts, Cannes for the music and film festivals, Nice for its wonderful market in Cours Saleya and new tram system, Italy, St. Tropez. Your options are endless. In Winter skiing is approx 40 mins to Greolieres or slightly further to Isola 2000. Or just while away the hours by the pool watching the sunrise and set escaping the world.

Additional information about rental rates

  • SPECIAL NOTE: FLIGHTS TEND TO BE CHEAPER ON SUNDAY IN PEAK SEASON HENCE OUR CHANGEOVER DAY IS SUNDAY. ALSO YOU DONT NEED TO TAKE EXTRA DAYS OF WORK.

    START DAYS ARE FLEXIBLE BETWEEN NOVEMBER AND MARCH.

    50% Reservation deposit at time of booking by bank transfer which is non refundable. The full amount is payable 8 weeks prior to arrival plus a £500.00 security/damage deposit to cover any damage or breakages which will be refunded and dispatched within 10 days of vacating the property. There is a £27.00 bank charge for refunds outside the UK by bank transfer your bank may also charge an incoming fee. If the renter cancels the contract within the 8 weeks prior to arrival no refund will be due except the security deposit. You are advised to take out necessary fully comprehensive holiday/travel insurance with a cancellation clause.

    The security/damage deposit will be refunded and dispatched within 10 days of vacating the property subject to any losses.
  • Included in the weekly rental pool maintenance, gardener, electricity,air-conditioning, cleaning, bedlinen and towels provided NOT BEACH TOWELS. Cleaning and laundry weekly. To allow for cleaning on handover Poets Retreat must be vacated by 10.00am and is available for access by 4pm (16.00)Arrival times unless previously arranged must be between 16.00 and 18.00 on day of arrival.

    There is an additional charge for heating in Winter of £50.00 per week between 1st October and 28th February.
  • Please do not leave the air-conditioning/heating on when not in use. Whilst in use please ensure all doors and windows are closed or an additional charges will be payable. Thank you

We stayed at the Poets Retreat for 7 nights as part of our honeymoon. It was wonderful. The apartment was beautifully decorated and cleaned to very high standards. It was equipped with everything that we needed and was like a home from home. The pool area was a delight and we used the bbq a couple of times. When we stayed at La Colle Sur Loup we visited Nice, Anitbes (a must) and Cannes. It was also a great base to explore Monaco. We loved St Paul de Vence but preferred Vence (only 5 minutes further). Vence had great restaurants and delightful squares with pretty shops and bars (worth a visit for your morning coffee).

I loved the Poets Retreat and will return as soon as we can - next time hiring the whole property (we saw the Villa and I have to say that it was absolutely stunning - if I stayed there then I would have never returned home!)
