Lunching and dining:
All around are restaurants of all categories, from your local bistro or pizzeria to restaurants with several stars in the Guide Michelin. You can find any kind of place, from the intimate and cozy for the romantic evening, to the more formal for entertaining your business partners. The street of Rue St. Antoine winds up from the old harbour through the old town up to the Castle museum and the old church with it's abundance of intimate places. On the Croisette, along the beach promenade you find the larger, formal restaurants. Or why not try the ones in between; the restaurants on the beach run by the large, prestigious hotels, giving you quality in a less formal setting.
Shopping:
The studio is on a high floor above the Rue d'Antibes, the main shopping street of the city of Cannes, and one block from the Croisette - the beach promenade. You want clothes? They're here - all of them. Hugo Boss, Chanel, Dior, Christian Lacroix and all the rest. As well as your more youthful jeans dealer. Cannes caters to all tastes and budgets!
Driving and parking, bussing and training:
In the building are car parking facilities (pay there and then, or pre-book/pre-pay). There are several car rental companies very near: Avis is at the train station - two minites walk away, Sixt is at the Hilton, EuropCar on a street nearby, and Hertz at the beginning of the Rue d'Antibes. Of course you also find other local car rental companies. You don't need a car in Cannes, but if you want to travel around at your own freedom it can be a good choice. Note that hiring a car for three days can often turn out cheaper than a one day rental. And booking on the net is always! cheaper than over the counter at the rental office. Trains are independant of the road traffic, they run fairly often, and are moderately priced. For the real budget journey, most bus lines in the area are €1 - one Euro. Going to the airport on the costal route? 1€. Want to visit Menton, close to Italy? €1. The Riviera doesn't have to cost all that!
