Iden village is a pretty Sussex village within walking distance from the property. It has a Shop/P.O, Church, Village Hall, Bowls Club, Riding School & Pub serving good food. Iden annual summer fete always proves to be very popular with visitors. A local bus service from Rye to Tenterden passes our gate & is ideal should you wish to have a relaxing day off from driving.
Rye - has a weekly market on a Thursday & also a Farmers Market on a Wednesday. Festivals such as Rye Bay Scallop Festival , Medieval Siege of Rye and Bonfire Parade with flaming torches are always favourite events. Once surrounded by sea, this fortified hilltop town with its cobbled streets, tea rooms & antique/bric a brac shops played an important role in the defence of the south coast of England. Nowadays the river is home to the local fishing fleet, with freshly caught fish available to buy from the quayside.
