Harbour View Villa is a traditional yet modern Dalmatian stone house, finished to a very high standard. On the first floor you will find 4 double bedrooms with magnificent sea views from 3 balconies and all windows. There are 2 luxurious bathrooms, one being ensuite to the master bedroom, the other having a bath and a shower area. On the ground floor there is a spacious open plan kitchen, dining and living area that opens onto a large wood decked terrace with fabulous views. There is also a twin bedroom, shower room and a separate toilet on this floor. The villa design and furnishings provide comfort, convenience and space with elegant décor around. All rooms are fully air conditioned. The terrace affords lovely views of Jelsa harbour in one direction and the open sea to the other. The house is set amidst cascading Mediterranean gardens and at the edge of the large terrace grows an old pine tree adding shade and character.

The villa is located in the town of Jelsa which is in a bay on the north side of the island of Hvar. On both sides of the harbor there are wooded coves ideal for relaxing and swimming. There are great bars and restaurants in the town which in the season is vibrant and fun but quiet and laid back outside of the main summer months of July and Aug. Jelsa is just a 10 minute drive from the main ferry port at Stari Grad. Hvar Town is 30 minutes away by car. Visits to these 2 towns are highly recommended for any visitor to the island. Both are historic yet quaint, with superb restaurants, Hvar Town having some of the best nightlife on the Adriatic. Known not only for its range of entertainment Hvar is also famous for having the most days of sunshine throughout the year in all Croatia

Beaches: The closest beach is just 50m away. There are also various other beaches nearby the villa, some family beaches and some hide away ones accessible only by foot or boat for the adventurous. It is easy to hire a small boat to explore some of these hidden beaches . The swimming is very good, the sea is an experience in itself, crystal clear and aqua blue.

NICE property, located in a too quiet village...

We stayed there 2 weeks during May/June and the property did for sure meet our expectations. Is even better than shown on the pictures. There could have been some sunbeds at the terrace, but that's basically the only thing we felt were missing. There is a very small supermarket 10 meters away from the villa. Buy water and heavy stuff there so you don't need to carry it from the center of the city. However wine was expensive at this supermarket.

The property was great, but Jelsa is a quiet place - too quiet... We thought it would be more restaurants to go for lunch and dinner, but they weren't that many good ones. There are A LOT of coffee- and icecream bars, but not many ok restaurants. And when it comes to nightlife; forget it! :)

One other thing that was disappointing with Jelsa, were the grocery stores. They had a very limitied selection of food compared to what we are used to in Scandiavia and western Europe. We were also in Hvar city which had a much better grocery store, but smaller cities in Croatia don't seem to have that. Even the small shops selling fruits and vegtables had a very limited selction.

Summary: House great! Jelsa nice but boring, and no good grocery stores to find there either.

Lovely villa!

We spent a relaxing week in this lovely villa in June. The villa is beautifully renovated. Location is good although finding it was a little tough. Rooms were nice, and as the weather was great we ate all breakfasts and lunches at the terrace.
The village was calm and we enjoyed the atmosphere.
We can recommend this villa as well as the whole village for a nice family vacation!
