Places of Interest::
Mounts Bay has many interesting towns and village around the bay including Marazion with St Michaels Mount, Penzance (boat or helicopter to the Scilly Isles) and Newlyn and Mousehole with their pretty harbours and famous Christmas lights.
St Ives has strong artistic connections. Visit the Tate Gallery, Leach Pottery and Barbara Hepworth Museum. There are many smaller galleries and fashionable clothes shops.
For those with children Cornwall has many themed parks including Dairyland, Paradise Park, Flambards and the stunning Eden Project is about 50 miles away.
For walkers, the cottage is near to the St Michaels Way footpath, as well as many ancient monuments such as Trencrom Hill fort, Carn Euny and Men an Tol. The cottage has a selection of guide books, leaflets and maps.
At Hayle Estuary (2.5. miles from the cottage) is a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) and nationally renowned RSPB reserve.
Truro has a cathedral, several large stores and an excellent museum.
Activities:
Surf lessons are available at Gwithian Beach. Horse riding near St Ives and at Halsetown. Climbing at Gurnards Head and Zennor (and elsewhere I'm sure). Wind surfing at Mounts Bay. Golf at Lelant, Camborne (Tehidy), Truro, Mullion. Surfing at Sennen, St Ives, Gwithian, Portreath, Porthtowan, Perranporth, Newquay. Go Carting at Hayle.
