Modern, sunny, well-equipped three-bedroom apartment in a 200-year-old stone building in the heart of an historic village in a National park. Summer activities include white-water rafting, hiking, climbing and mountain biking. Hikers can wander in the largest Natural Reserve of Haute-Savoie and access the Cirque du Fer a Cheval, the Rouget waterfall and the Tines' Gorge, or walk to Switzerland and back. Local skiing from December to April with beginner's slope and ski school, cross-country skiing, ice-skating, dog-sledding and other winter activities nearby. Sixt Fer a Cheval's ski area is linked with Grand Massif via the famous 'Cascades trail', a 14km blue run from the resort of Flaine. The Portes du Soleil and Chamonix Valley are a 30-minute drive away. Sixt is one of the 'Most Beautiful Villages of France' with rich medieval architecture that includes a monastery. All local amenities (supermarket, bakery, bars and restaurants) are within walking distance.
