Photos and Description of this Valfabbrica holiday farmhouse Colle Maggio a very pretty farmhouse near Assisi

Colle Maggio is in a truly private position, surrounded by wonderful landscapes. Only 2Kms from the small town of Valfabbrica, wich has shops, a weekly market, bars ad restaurants, and tennis courts. Assisi is 15 Kms away, and Perugia, Gubbio and Lake Trasimeno are all within easy reach for sightseeing or relaxing on the lakeside beaches. The house are comfortable, specious rooms, with a living/dining room with huge fireplace at ground floor, a large kitchen, which was attractively refurbished in 2004, and cloakroom/WC with washing machine. At first floor there are three bedrooms: one double, one with bunk beds and one with double and single bad. We recommend the bunks for children only. A cot and high chair can also be provided. The house has central heating. Outside there is the swimming pool which is 11 x 5 meters with a depth oh 1.5m, a covered terrace for eating “al fresco” with a traditional wood-fired pizza oven – not just for pizzas.

Farmingh activities: Behind the farmhouse (but well fenced in) there is a veritable managerie of animals which are common to Italian smallholdings. Young children will delight in the ducks, chicken, goats and sheep, and the owners are generous in supplies of eggs, fruit and vegetables when in season, and their own wine. Towns of historic interest Colle Maggio in only 15Kms from Assisi, one of Umbria’s most famous hilltop towns, birthplace of St. Francis. Wander at leisure through its narrow street with beautifully preserved buildings to the awe-inspiring basilica dedicated to St. Francis. Gubbio is 30 Kms away, and Perugia, the “capital” of Umbria, only 20Kms, for city life, shops, restaurants, galleries, the renowned jazz festival in July, or simply soaking up the atmosphere while you sip an aperitivo in the Corso Vannucci, described as “the best street for people-watching in Europe”
