Trastevere, a wonderfully characteristic part of the old Rome, with its narrow cobbled streets, historic churches and charming buildings. There are many Restaurants and Cafés. Trastevere has always been popular with poets and painters and many artists and craftsmen have their studios here.
The building of the apartment (around 1900) is situated on the slop of the Gianicolo hill. (One of the famous 7 hills of Rome. The houses on these grounds are connected with a long stair, which gives it the picturesque charm of a small village.
The lower entrance is just around the corner of Piazza Cosimato. Here every weekday is the colourful market of Trastevere. Romans and Tourists enjoy a night out in Trastevere with a nice meal sitting outside in the squares and watching time go by.
The Tiber is close. From Viale Trastevere with the Tram N° 8 one arrives fast in Piazza Largo Argentina, a square close to Piazza Venezia, but its lovely walking across the bridges, through the baroque Rome.
