A house with character, ideal for summer and winter holiday let. It is situated in Torvizcón, heart of La Contraviesa and one of the most unspoilt Andalucian towns in La Alpujarra of Granada. The property is newly refurbished, light, spacious and lovingly furnished for a romantic vacation in the Spanish sun. It is spread over 3 floors with an incredible roof terrace overlooking the lively yet quiet village itself, the riverbed and the mountains of Sierra Nevada. La Contraviesa is widely renowned for its almond groves and its wine, otherwise known as Vino de la Tierra or Vino Costa and Torvizcón is a good base from which to visit the white villages of Las Alpujarras and the Moorish villages of La Taha, including Trevélez, the highest village in Spain, famous for its production of serrano ham. The area is known for its natural beauty and its wildlife. It is within an easy drive to the costal towns of Motril, Salobreña & Almuñecar as well as Los Guájares and the Lecrín Valley.

Torvizcón is essentially a traditional rural Spanish town with a couple of bars, restaurants & supermarkets. It has a health centre, a pharmacy, a school, a public swimming pool, a park, a children's recreation area and a 'rambla' along the river-bed. The surrounding area makes good walking, mountain biking, horseback riding and it is near enough for a day swimming at the beach or a day in Granada City with its historic Alhambra Palace, the gardens of Generalife, its museums, galleries and excellent shopping. Like most villages it has a weekly street market and fiestas. The nearest town is Orgiva and the spa town of Lanjarón is also a short drive away.

A great situation

Dâr Alâli is situated just off the church square where parking is allowed. During the fiestas, it is ideal for watching the start and the end of the processions, either from the 2 balconies on the top floor or from the roof terrace. This latter towers just below the church steeple from where there is a view of the whole village.

The roof terrace is conveniently situated just above the kitchen/living area. It has a table seating 6, a barbecue and a washbasin. there is also a sunbathing bed.
