Being a guest in your apartment was wonderful. We loved it. We look forward to doing so again.
The apartment was exactly as described in the advertising material, and was thoroughly clean and tidy on our arrival. We quickly made ourselves at home, and I was able to relax in a lovely hot bath after the long drive.
We know Paris well, and so were less awestruck by the city than a first-time visitor might be. Therefore staying in the much more residential area of Montparnasse was ideal for us, particularly as there were several supermarkets close by. The view from the window was wonderful, and I am not particularly referring to the Eye-Candy Tower: the peace of the Jardin Atlantique, onto which the apartment looks, and the rhythm of the surrounding blocks was, for me, like a Philip Glass composition.
We were very careful about the security of your apartment, double-locking the front door at night and when we left the apartment. As a result, the apartment also felt very secure for us. The other people living in the residential block were friendly to us - much more so than I suspect people in the UK would have been. I was very happy to have parked our car in such a safe place. The process of vacating the apartment was straightforward, and the concierge was friendly.
I am an enthusiastic cook, and as a strict vegan (and therefore severely restricted in the places where I can eat out), it was excellent to be able to use the cooking facilities, and did so every day. As well as pasta and polenta dishes, I like to cook Indian, and south-east Asian curries, Chinese and Japanese food. So, next time we visit, I shall bring with me a couple more pots and pans. With its large dining table, the apartment was an ideal size for our needs.
Although far from television addicts, we made some use of the nice television, but we were unable to use the DVD player because of the incompatibility between our UK (PAL) DVDs and the French (SECAM) television. Fortunately, we had a travel DVD player/screen with us so that my daughter was able to watch the occasional DVD.
We had a lovely time in Paris, and feel revitalised as a result. Staying in your apartment was a key aspect of the trip, both in making the trip work, and also setting the tone: for that we are most thankful. We found you welcoming, helpful and accommodating, for which we are most grateful. We look forward to meeting you again.
We lost no time in recommending your apartment to friends and to relatives.
