The historic villa was built in 1900 for Spanish nobility, recently restored and located in the picturesque village of Viladrau. It has extensive lounge and dining space with all rooms and hallways built to a grand scale. Nature lovers will enjoy the three huge terraces with breathtaking mountain views. Great stay, super relaxing

We found the villa very well equipped and perfect for our needs. It was very spacious, with room for all of us to eat and sit together, or hide away in peace. The kids loved the pool and there were plenty of loungers, fresh towels and outdoor seating. We loved the area, there were loads of fantastic mountain walks starting from the village. We would definitely return. The house is right in the village yet very private and secure for our young ones. Barcelona and Costa Brava beautiful beaches were great for days out, though we did need the car. The local restaurants were great especially the Chalet Coromina - very interesting food! and just across the road. We have no hesitation in recommending the villa to others.

Our time at Can Capella

Hi Lloyd,

Just felt I should let you know what a fabulous holiday we all had at Can Capella. The house exceeded our expectations. It was cool,comfortable, airy and spacious. The views were great and the pool was superb. I enjoyed swimming 50 lengths every morning before breakfast!

Carlotta and her family provided a very good service...especially after the power cut!

Viladrau is a lovely town. Everyone was very welcoming. We enjoyed the short stroll to the varied excellent local shops and cafes. The teenagers made friends with some of the local people. I will send you some photos by separate email if I can find any that you might find useful, or of interest.

By amazing co incidence, we met a family from Sandwich in Vic one day. They asked where we were staying, as they were always looking for places that can house large groups. We told them to Google Can Capella...so I hope they get in touch.

Only slight niggles were
in the first week there was not enough hot water for everyone to shower when they wished..but there were a lot of us.
the cocktail cabinet was tantalising for teenagers.
more cups and mugs required.
My husband is a builder, and was impressed by the high standard of work you have done on the house.

Thank you. I would happily recommend Can Capella to groups seeking a comfortable, relaxing holiday in a quiet Catalonian retreat.

Walking & golf trip

This house is perfectly located, a few minutes walk from a beautiful mountain village centre. Facilities were ideal in the house and garden. Position was perfect for access to Club de Golf Montanya (15 min drive) and fantastic hill and woods walking are on the doorstep. For more challenging walks, Montseny park is a 10 min drive.
Great restaurant in Xalet Coromina - over the road and top Michelin cuisine with warm Catalan welcome from Salvador the chef.

Most memorable holiday

Another family and our family rented this Spanish house and the property lived up to everything we wanted in a holiday home. It is an extraordinary home rich with history and one feels almost like Marie Antoinette standing on the balcony overlooking her garden below. (OK, I may be exaggerating, but it did feel luxurious and spacious.)

The town is great, it's the quaint kind of place with a small central square and outdoor cafes. The best part is that all of this is within a 5 minute walk from the house. There also great hikes nearby.

We were looking for a peaceful country getaway in reach of the cities and beaches of Catalonia, but away from the tourist mayhem. This house and location exceeded our expectations – the area must be a closely guarded Catalan secret! The views from the terraces were superb. We loved the whole healthy feeling to the place. The garden and pool were very private yet only a couple of minutes walk from the village centre. The house was huge and very grand inside and the boys were really happy with their own TV and play room. The owners told us that this was their first year renting the place, so everything was new, including the bathrooms and everything we needed had been thought fully provided for. We loved the walks from the village into the mountains and had days at the beach and Barcelona. We all felt great after our time there, it’s a special place. We plan to come back in 2009 to do it all again!
