Nestled on an elevated site this idyllic detached house lies just one mile from the heart of Waterville with its shops, pubs and first class restaurants to choose from. Newly built, spacious, comfortable and furnished to a very high standard, it has been well designed to take advantage of the views of the amazing countryside and the wonderful Lough Currane which is world famous for its salmon and trout fishing. Waterville has two golf courses, one within a mile, the other a world ranked championship golf course approximately two miles. There is a beach and walkway stretching along the front of the village. Sandy beaches, national park and historic house at Derrynane are about 15mins drive. Sheltered patio area, garden furniture ample parking spaces, sitting room with large tv, dvd, open fire, lake view. Kitchen cum dining room with double over, fridge, freezer, dish washer, washing machine, tumble drier and microwave.

Hillwalking: This is a good area for walkers as there are 2 sections of the Kerry Way walking route or for the more energetic, the majestic mountains in the surrounding area.

Waterville: Waterville is situated in the heart of Ireland's most spectacular beautiful area, The Ring of Kerry. It is famous for its world ranked golf course, its trout and salmon angling and its golden sandy beaches. Waterville lies on a narrow strip of land between the Athlantic and Lough Currane. Waterville and its surrounding area offers a number of breathtaking walks and places to see. The most scenic of these walks is the Coomakista Pass. Waterville village has many fine restaurants, pubs, shops, craft stores, post office, garage, internet cafés and coffee shops. The village has attracted many famous celebrities over the years, Charlie Chaplin, Tiger Woods, Payne Stewart, Mark O'Meara.......to name but a few.

Excellent retreat!

We recently returned to the States from a stay at this property and it completely exceeded all our expectations. The house is amazing and the photos do not do it full justice. Plenty of space, top notch amenities and lots of privacy. The view from the house is spectacular both from the front and the back of the residence. If you are the adventurous sort, I would recommend climbing the hill at the back of the house for a truely breathtaking view of the lough and the surrounding area. Thanks again to Kathleen for making our first trip to Europe so special!

Great House in Kerry

We just finished a week at Kathleen's house and it was wonderful. The pictures on VRBO do not do justice to the view from the house, which was terrific. Some of the most stunning scenary we saw in Kerry was just down the small, untraveled (1 or 2 cars a day) road on which the house is located. We saw a lot of "holiday houses" in Kerry, and we thought that this house had the best location: private, quiet, with terrific views.

The house is almost brand new, with construction finished just last year. Everything worked perfectly. It was clean, neat, and well-appointed. We are a family of 6, with children ages 9 to 16. The younger kids climbed on the hill behind the house, while the older kids read and relaxed. We thought it was perfect for a family.

Kathleen was very friendly and accomodating, and came over on our first night to make a warm and cozy peat fire.

We had a wonderful time and highly recommend the house to anyone traveling to Kerry.

We would like to keep this a secret.....

This is not the standard we are used to!! Renting holiday accommodation is a risky business. We have rented in Ireland,Europe and North America, this property is top of the list, a real gem, truly five star. The accommodation is fantastic, furnished to the highest standard with all the expected luxuries, this is a home, not a rental property. Kathleen offers excellent value , the highest standards a wonderful welcome and a great insight into the locality. The views from the house are some of the best experienced in the area. Our family have been travelling to Waterville for 15 years, the house we normally rent was (thankfully) unavailable. This is our new base in the South. Our next visit is already booked. We would like to keep this home a secret.....but happiness should be shared and Kathleen supplies it in abundence.

Die erste Juniwoche 2009 durften wir in diesem tollen Haus verbringen. Es ist alles da was man braucht, es fehlt an nichts (außer vielleicht Kaffeemaschine). Platz ohne Ende, im Haus und auch ums Haus. Die Lage ist perfekt, weg von der Hauptstrasse (total ruhig gelegen), mit Blick auf den See. Haus und Grundstück sind von außen nicht einsehbar. Nach Waterville sind es 3 Minuten mit dem Auto. Dort hat es Supermarkt, Metzger und alles was man zum Einkaufen braucht. Die Kathleen (Vermieterin) ist total nett und die Anmietung war völlig unkompliziert. Wir waren mit drei kleinen Kindern da und können das Haus nur weiterempfehlen.
