A delightful quiet ground-floor family apartment, new in 2008, thoughtfully new-furnished by the owners themselves (no standardised rental furniture package here) as an ideal get-away retreat in the quiet avenues of the award-winning La Cinuelica estate; all holiday facilities (shops/restaurants/beaches) in easy walking reach. The apartment is part of a beautiful courtyard development carefully designed for holiday use, with its own attractive swimming pools in the centre, exclusive to occupants of the apartments. Full hot/cold air conditioning in all rooms, large living room, shaded terrace, own private planted garden , fully equipped kitchen, bathroom, master bedroom with kingsize bed, guest bedroom with two singles (can be pushed together), king-size sofa bed in living room, so can accommodate up to 6 if friendly, washing machine, satellite TV (most English channels), DVD, BBQ, extensive bed linen/towels (but please bring your own beach towels). No pets, no smoking inside.

There's every kind of beach, from popular to solitary, within a few minutes drive (or cycle hire is easy); nearest to apartment (Punta Prima beach) is about 15 mins. walk. Huge range of shops and restaurants all along the main coastal road 10 mins. walk away. The big and lively resort town of Torrevieja is 10 mins. drive away; or the medieval stone town of Orihuela inland. At least 3 first-class golf courses, offering every kind of challenge, are in the immediate area. Lively local markets occur somewhere in the area, almost every day of the week. The inland salt lakes of Torrevieja have offered health spa facilities since Roman times! For guests with a car, or willing to travel a little further, the mountain scenery, superb fellwalking (in rather better weather than is usual in the UK!) and historic stone villages inland, are well worth exploring - the owners themselves always rent a small car from the airport for their visits (surprisingly cheap, booked online in advance).

Additional information about rental rates

  • You will need to bring, in cash, a key/damages/cleaning deposit of 100 euros, to be paid to our agent who meets you, at the start of your rental. A minimum of 45 euros (for a party of up to four) will be charged, from this deposit, for cleaning/laundry at the end of your stay, assuming you leave the flat as clean and tidy as possible; an additional charge will be levied for any extra work required. There's an addition of 5 euros per extra person over four for this. The cost of repairs or replacing any damaged item on the inventory, will likewise be deducted from the deposit before return of the balance on leaving; so a party of up to four people, who have left the apartment tidy and with no damage or losses/breakages, should expect to have 55 euros returned to them at the end of their stay. Our local agent can also arrange pick-up from the airport if needed; cost may vary, but as a guide was around 40-50 euros last year. Out-of-hours (8pm-8am) meeting surcharge 15 euros.
  • Full payment required with all bookings. Reservation of your 'slot' will be held for 14 days only, by which time full payment must have been received and fully cleared - personal cheque, bank transfer or internet banking transfer - our account details for this will be supplied with acceptance of your reservation, if you wish to pay that way. Please also note well that, since we are private owners of this apartment, we cannot deal with cancellations; there will NO return of money for cancellation by you for ANY reason; so we very strongly recommend your taking out holiday/travel insurance with specific cover against this eventuality, if you think this might possibly be a problem for you.
  • We will, however, transfer your booking to another vacant date, at your request, for an additional administration fee of £50/65 euros, payable in advance, provided that the 'transferred' booking is for the same people in the party (you can't sell or pass on such a transferred booking). Or you can pass on the original slot to someone else, but again we require the same £50/65 euro admin. fee to make the necessary changes of information.

We spent 12 days in this apartment, which was well furnished and very comfortable. This home has the best air-conditioning we've ever had, cooling the rooms very quickly. The location is quiet, but still within easy reach of facilities (4 supermarkets in easy walking distance), the beach and bars etc at Punta Prima.

The owners' local agent met us on arrival, explained the many keys (normal in Spain!), and the all-important air-con controls. The property was clean and the beds freshly made up. Outside, there is a good sized terrace looking out onto the garden, and at the back a handy area for drying washing.

The communal pool was generally fairly quiet, and of a good size. The grass surround was maintained to a good standard, but I would recommend the frequent use of insect repellent. Being surrounded by buildings, it's a real sun trap, particularly in the afternoons.

This apartment was brand new and well equipt, however it was still on builders supply electric so therefore power cuts were daily, one day it went off for over 17 hours. i informed the key holder and the owner of this but they didnt seem to understand how this ruined our holiday. I would NOT RECOMMEND this apartment to anyone until it is on mains electric, once on mains this would be a good palce to have a family holiday.
Owner's Response: This Guest was very unlucky; there have been no other episodes of power cuts either with the owners, or any other Guest before or since. We fully understood the inconvenience to our guest of such power cuts, and in fact did everything we possibly could, from the UK, to get it sorted as quickly as possible for them; and our excellent local agent, who herself lives just 100 metres away from the apartment, in an identical one to this, did everything she possibly could to chase up and get the problem fixed. This Guest was unaware of the huge amount of time that both the agent, and ourselves, spent in constant communication with the electricity supply people to get it fixed as quickly as possible. The problem actually turned out to be a circuit breaker on one of the three supply phases to the apartment block, which kept tripping out for no apparent reason, taking out power to one-third of the apartments, of which unfortunately ours was one. Regrettably, this is the kind of event, over which we can have no possible control; power cuts can happen in any country, any time, though fortunately very rare. The fault has now been completely fixed, and there have been, in almost a year since, NO further power cuts whatsoever, whether owners or Guests are present, or not. We now have a full normal domestic contract with Iberdrola, the local electricity supplier, paying them by automatic direct debit, so there is NO possibility of any supply interruption due to any payment default by us, and, as stated above, there have in fact been NO further power outages whatsoever, the reliability being the same as any other normal Western country, that is, power outages being extremely rare. Prospective guests may therefore book this fine apartment with confidence, both that the possibility of any power cut is no more likely than they experience at home; and further, in the (very unlikely) event of anything going wrong - nothing else ever has - every possible effort and priority will be made, both by our Agent and ourselves, to put matters right for you as quickly as humanly possible.
