Mayo is a region of spectacular scenery - mountains, lakes and sandy beaches, with a mild climate perfect for enjoying all that this western area of Ireland has to offer, from water activities to shopping or hiking up Croagh Patrick. There are numerous places of interest within a short drive, such as the town of Westport, including the historic Westport House, Clare Island, Kylemore Abbey and plentiful hiking and cycling trails. The region truly has something for everyone. Clare Island is accessible by ferry and only a 10 minute drive away. Connemara with it's rugged scenery and quaint villages, is less than a half an hour away by car. Westport, with it's bustling shops, pubs and restaurants is an interesting town to spend the day in, and Kylemore Abbey, with it's extensive grounds and gardens, is a beautiful place to relax. The apartment is perfectly located to enjoy a variety of activities such as surfing, fishing, swimming, walking, hiking and cycling.
