A vast conspiracy to make you happy… With sweeping views of the coastline, hidden at the end of a long access road, MONTE SERRA offers peace, quiet and SAFETY for children: there is no traffic except for yourself, the neighbour or the shepherd and his flock. Moreover a wall and a gate seal off the pool area. Thirty acres of centuries old trees ensure privacy to 4 self-contained accommodations. The place is huge: guests seldom bump into each other but if they do, they probably meet a like-minded soul. The grounds hide many quiet corners for some enjoyable reading or that chat awaiting a serene moment. The Palm Garden and its gorgeous ocean view invite to high tea, sun downers or a festive dinner at the large marble table. Take a refreshing dive, seek the solace of the pergola’s shade after too much sun, stroll through the citrus groves and pick a grapefruit for breakfast or, at night, enjoy the starry sky and scent of ”dama da noite”, a flower that awakens when the sun has set.

Restored to its 19th century glory, this manor-like house displays Moorish flavoured doors and windows, period furniture, Kazakh rugs and stylish bathrooms. Original terra cotta tiles clad the floors and antique tiles depicting birds or flowers adorn kitchen and bathroom walls. The well equipped kitchen kept its original oven which once roasted twelve piglets to celebrate a village wedding. The cashier's office became a stylish dining room and through the wrought iron bars on the window one may catch a glimpse of the shepherd and his fluffy flock as they go past the old track. Cobbled terraces amidst rose beds beckon to 'al fresco' lunching. Thick stone walls, high ceilings and whispering fans keep the house amazingly cool during the hot summer days; come winter and log fires, art nouveau stoves and heaters take over. Choose a nearby track for walking or biking, or go for a tennis court, a famous golf course, a medieval castle, the scenic Guadiana riverbanks, the Ria Formosa bird sanctuary or the old town of Tavira where country cooking or more sophisticated recipes are served at very palatable prices. You are just 7 km north of Fuzeta and from this fishermen village a launch will take you across the lagoon to the lovely beaches of Armona island. At 2 km, Angela's small yet well stocked mini-market has fresh bread in the morning and most of the daily needs on the shelves. Ask her to arrange a home made ice cream cake or a free range cockerel for the pot.   • Rental rates.
    Always ask for our special offers.
    Rates include water, electricity and gas; cleaning after departure; change of bed linen once a week; change of towels twice a week; heating during the colder periods in winter and firewood for stoves and fireplaces available from the stockpile; baby cots and high chairs; use of swimming pool and access to grounds and citrus groves.
    Not included are beach towels, laundry, maid service, table dh?te, additional beds, babysitting, bikes, etc. which can eventually be provided by arrangement.
    Some applicable extra charges are: A/C: ?35/week; extra bed: ?70-105/week, use of washing M/C: ?5/turn.
    Special weeks are those including following bank holidays: Easter, April 25th and 30th, May 1st and 5th, Pentecost, Christmas and New Year. These weeks commence 3 days prior to the feast day.

  • Arrival and departure.
    The accommodation will be available from 16:00 hrs on the day of arrival till 10:00 hrs on the day of departure. A half day up to a full day rent can be charged if the accommodation is to be made available before 16:00/12:00 hrs on the day of arrival or after 10:00/14:00 hrs on the day of departure, provided such arrangements are possible.
  • Bookings, payments and cancellation by Client
    A non refundable down payment of 25% of the rent will be required at the time of booking, the remaining 75% being payable not later than 12 weeks before arrival date. Failure to pay timely the full balance will be considered a cancellation by Client. Following reimbursement schedule will apply in case of cancellation:
    - 83 to 56 days before arrival date: 50%
    - 55 to 28 days before arrival date: 25%
    - less than 28 days before arrival date: 10% of the total rent.
    Guest may be requested to pay a security deposit

Dieses wunderschöne und charmante Domizil hat uns traumhaft schöne 9 Tage Urlaub beschert, die wir- wenn wir es uns zeitlich hätten erlauben können- sehr gerne verlängert hätten.
Unsere Wohnung war liebevoll eingerichtet, mit viel Liebe zum Detail, sehr geschmackvoll und sehr, sehr gemütlich...mit einer wunderschönen Terrasse mit Blick auf den tollen Palmengarten und das Meer in weiter Ferne- einfach romantisch!
Die Wohnung war sehr sauber und gepflegt....wie eben auf den Fotos im Internet abgebildet, bzw. die Angaben im Internet entsprachen voll unseren Erwartungen.
Der Vermeiter hat uns im Vorfeld sehr sehr gut betreut, hat uns bereits im Vorfeld mit zahlreichen Tipps bzgl. Ausflugszielen, Restaurants und sonstigen Aktivitäten "gefüttert"und war auch vor Ort jederzeit für Gespräche, Fragen und Tipps offen, die sich teilweise als wahre Geheimtipps offenbart haben!
Als besonders empfehlenswert ist ein Tagesausflug nach Sevilla....wie vor allem aber nach Lissabon, eine tolle Stadt! Besonders sehenswert ist außerdem eine Fahrt entlang der Felsenküste......ein landschaftliches Highlight!!!!!
Da wir in jedem Fall wiederkommen möchten und hoffentlich werden, können wir dieses idyllische Landgut nur wärmstens empfehlen......aufgrund dieser Abgeschiedenheit kommt man hier wirklich richtig zur Ruhe....und Jean-Jacques ist überaus sympathischer Vermieter, der immer gerne eine Geschichte aus seinem Leben zu erzählen weiß!

Wir kommen wieder, keine Frage! :-)
