Puerto Mogan known locally as Little Venice is a short distance away, it is well worth a visit, especially on Friday’s busy market day. It's beauty is breathtaking. It can be reached by catching the regular & very popular water bus service from Puerto Rico's marina, or the normal cheap overland bus or taxi service. The old city of Las Palmas is a must to visit if you like to shop at the large department stores, or view the grand old historic architecture, along with it's typical Canarian culture. San Bartolomé de Tirajana in the mouth of a huge crater at the foot of the central massif. These are the highest points of the island: Pozo de las Nieves (1,965m) and Los Pechos (1,961m), from where there is a marvellous view of the scenery of La Galdera de Tirajana, the valleys of Ayacata & Fataga with their villages & the Guanche of Artenara
