The San Federico barn stretches out over 25 ha on a strategically convenient point, directly by the street connectiong Cecina and Volterra and only 20km from the beaches of the Etruscan coast. The country is partially built with crops, the other portion is made up of typical Mediterranean bush forests. The lone standing farm house is surrounded by a well-kept, completely enclosed garden. The house was completely restored and is separated into 3 apartments, in one of which the owner lives. During restoration, special value was placed on the preservation of old structures, like terracotta floors and curved ceilings. The apartments have individual entrances and are furnished with partially antique furniture. Each apartment has a covered patio or gazebo with garden furniture. The guests also have free entrance into the public communal swimming pool - about 1500m away.

The vacation apartment 'II Granaiao' is for 5 people and is 100m² and stretches out over 2 levels. It is made up of a spacious living room, the dining and living/relaxing area with a sofa in front of the romantic fireplace are separated by a round arch. Satellite TV available. There is an eat-in kitchen with a walled kitchenette that is also good for hobby cookers. Dishwasher available. You can get to the 2nd floor by taking a stone staircase, here you will find a bedroom with 2 double beds (can be put together) and a spacious double bedroom with 2 additional single beds. Spacious bathroom with WC and shower cubicle. The central heating makes it possible to live in the house during the winter months. There is a communal washing machine available for the guests in a different room. Upon request, you can try the products from the farm or order a complete meal.

Notes to the rental rates

• The prices include electricity, water and gas. Final cleaning is billed directly on site, 40 €. Upon request, we can provide bedsheets and towels for a fee of 10 € per person and week. Possible heating costs will be billed according to consumption. Firewood is provided free of charge!

The city

Ponteginori is a newly built center on the banks of the Cecina River. It belongs to the district of Montecatini Val di Cecina. The name Ponteginori comes from a bridge that was ordered to be built by count Ginori between 1831 and 1835. At the beginning of our century, this city gained importance due to the chemical factory Solvay. Since then, salt, which is very plentiful in Val di Cecina, has been mined. Due to the strategically convenient location, good excursions are possible to the inland towards Volterra (only 18km) and towards the sea (20km). Shopping facilities and a public swimming pool are present.
