Our thoughts

We had such a warm and friendly welcome from the building manager, Pablo, which was much appreciated after our 26 hour journey. We were instantly impressed with the apartment; it was spotlessly clean, tastefully furnished and decorated, and very well equipped. The kitchen in particular was so well set up that one could easily, if one wished, prepare gourmet meals without needing any extra cookware. Pablo was very accommodating, he patiently helped us orientate ourselves both in the building and in the surrounding area, even lending us a phone chip for the duration of our stay. We made a few extra requests, such as for a clothes airer, ironing board and iron, extra towels etc, and these were all immediately and cheerfully supplied, thanks Pablo. We found Gracia a fascinating and authentically Catalunyan area, quite un-touristy, safe to wander around in, with an absolute wealth of small groceries, fresh markets and of course delightful local restaurants and tapas bars. It was easy to travel to other parts of Barcelona via the excellent Metro service ("our" stop was Diagonal), and a gentle 15 minute stroll down the wide tree-lined Passeig de Gracia, to the Placa Catalunya. Our whole experience of Barcelona, Gracia, and the Bonavista Apartments was 100% positive and enjoyable. We have already recommended Bonavista to several people, and are hoping to return one day--when we do, we will request a room at the rear of the house as Apartment 2C was affected by street (pedestrian) noise at night on occasion, particularly on Fridays and Saturdays. This would not be of concern to other night owls of course! Ian & Elizabeth...New Zealand
