A ground floor apartment and studio, 5km from the Atlantic. The apartment consists of two double bedrooms (sleeping up to 6), a kitchen diner & WC/shower room. The seperate studio has its own wc, shower and kitchenette and sleeps another two. If you are looking for a holiday in Charente Maritime about 5kms from glorious beaches and separated from them by a pine forest, our apartment could be the answer. It is very spacious occupying a large part of the ground floor of a wonderful old house and sleeps 6 easily with the added advantage of an attached independent studio with space to sleep another 2 people. Both open on to a sunny, private South west facing patio (ideal for the BBQ) and at the back of the house we have two parking places, and a 30 second walk takes you to a delightful shared pool (little used).

We are located on the edge of a pine forest 5Km from the most wonderful sandy beaches. You can drive (or cycle) to the beach through the forest and will find abundant parking and picnic areas. It is an ideal spot for a great holiday, there is something for everybody. Enjoy the Atlantic beaches, walk in the forest, visit the Zoo at La Palmyr or swim in the pool, your choice!. We are 100Km north of Bordeaux and 60km south of La Rochelle The chic resort of Royan is about 10Km away. Royan has a large sandy beach and is an excellent spot for windsurfing. The town boasts a casino and is ideal for an afternoons shopping, souvenir hunting or eating. At night it is an extremely lively spot. In all there are about 30Km of sandy beaches stretching from Ronce les Bains to Royan. The major chateaux of Bordeaux are only a 10 minute ferry ferry ride away from Royan.

About our apartment.: The apartment and studio are used by us, our family and friends during the year and we rent it out when we are not using it. You should treat it as we do and leave it tidy for whoever follows you.

St Augustin : St. Augustin is a small village whose population rises about four fold during the peak French holiday season (mid July to mid August). Outside this period it is extremely quiet.

The Pool: The pools is shared between the residents of our house and a row of small gites to the back of our house. It is open from early June to the end of August (ask for specific dates, it can vary a little year by year). The pool is mainly used by children during the peak season and little used otherwise, after all we have the Atlantic close by-much better!
