Golf:
There are 3 top class 18 hole courses and 1 nine hole golf course within 15 minutes drive of the apartment. These are - Desert Springs, the only desert course in Europe, home to many top class tournaments and where many celebs have homes including Ian Botham and Daly Thompson. There is also the Crocodile Club great for a day out relaxing in the pool and jacuzzis.
Valle de Este (18 hole - par 71) is also 15 minutes away. Another top course set amidst rolling hills and fabulous sea views .
Marina Golf in Mojacar - 18 hole par 72. This course has 9 holes next to the beach and the remaining 9 holes on the side of a small hill.
Cortijo Grande is also a short drive away - it is a relaxed but challenging course set amongst orange groves. There is also a driving range with putting green and pitch and putt nearby.
Local Activities:
Vera ' Parque Aquatico' ( water park) is less than 5 minutes away from the apartment. There is a go-karting track 5 minutes away. In the nearby Tabernas Desert ( the only true desert in Europe) only 40 minutes away there are 2 feature parks - Mini Hollywood and Texas Hollywood. Both are built around existing Hollywood cowboy film sets used in such classics as 'The Good, The Bad and The Ugly' and 'A Fistful of Dollars'. Walk down the streets, have a drink in the saloon and watch a cowboy shoot-out. The Tabernas Desert has such clear air it is used for astrological studies and the moon- like landscape is amazing. There are 2 PADI dive centres close by and many more in Mojacar. There are horse-riding stables in Mojacar too. Granada and the Alhambra Palace are around 2 hours away. There is even a ski resort in the Sierra Nevada mountains - also 2 hours away. The long stretch of Blue Flag beach just 5 minutes from the apartment. The Costa Almeria has an average 320 days of sun
Wining and Dining:
There are a huge variety of bars and restaurants in the area covering all tastes and pockets. Also close by are cafes serving breakfast and lunch. There are numerous restaurants within 20 minutes walk, Spanish, English and Chinese. If you choose to travel a little further Mojacar Playa (beach) has lively bars and a huge range of restaurants. Try the mouthwatering Argentinian steaks or Pasta dishes overlooking the Mediteranean. Mojacar village is set atop a mountain - explore the cobbled streets and admire the amazing views of the whole region. Nearby Garrucha is famed for its fresh seafood (especially prawns) caught by local fishermen that day. Or if you prefer some alfresco dining on the terrace - the local supermarket which caters for every need is only 5 minutes away.
