One of a kind recreation area:
The Danube Island, the number one recreation area in Vienna, is directly in front of the door and offers various leisure pleasures all around the year. The Danube Island is a 21,1km long strip alongside the river of Danube and the so called 'new Danube' that was built during the 1980ies as a flood protection for the city of Vienna. It is, beside the flood protection, a green oasis that is used by the Viennese for recreational sporting activities. Especially cycling, running, skating swimming, sailing and (Nordic) walking are the main sports here. In wintertime cross county skiing and ice skating is very nice here. Copa Cagrana, the best place for open air summertime nightlife within Vienna is located near the so called Reichsbrücke, 10min. of walking distance from the apartment.
Donauinselfest:
The Donauinselfest is a highlight in the summertime events and open air parties. The by far largest open air festival in Europe with numerous stages, live music all days long is a festival that beats all the other festivals. In the time of end of June, during usually nice warm sunny weather one can listen to more than 200 bands for free.
Near the City:
The underground is within walking distance from the apartment (10min.). The city centre can be reached within 20min. by public transport. A beautiful day, sightseeing in the city of Vienna can be perfectly ended after a refreshing swim in the 'Neue Donau' and dinner in one of the restaurants at the Copa Cagrana by a hot dance in one of the Copa's Clubs.
