Photos and Description of this Castelnuovo Berardenga holiday villa Apartments in a lovely farm house, at 5 miles from Siena.

Splendid 18th century mansion with typical Sienese architecture. It is situated next to the historical village of Basciano. The house position is ideal because one reaches the Chianti region in a few minutes or can enjoy the culture and convenience of the city of Siena. Siena offers many traditional events and is situated only 6 km away. The mansion is surrounded by a garden with oak-trees, linden-trees, cypresses and a terrace full of many mediterranean plants, where one can relax and have a pleasant stay outside. The swimming-pool is 6m x12 m and is situated on a terrace with pergola. From the terrace there is an excellent view of the hills including, woods and fields. The estate is situated at an altitude of 350 m above sea level. The climate is usually full of sunshine with a light breeze.

The apartment is on three floors. Entance is through the courtyard, welcoming you with two large glassdoors. The main room, with typical Sienese beams, is divided into sitting-room and kitchen. The sitting-room is furnished with sofas and arm-chairs. The kitchen has a table for up to seven people and includes all the necessities. When arriving on the next floor, the first room has a double bed and an ensuite bathroom. From the corridor, there is access to a full bathroom, before reaching the last room which has a twin bed. From the rooms there is a beautiful view onto the gardens of the estate. On the second floor there is a large loft with 3 single beds. Outside, you can enjoy the garden, along with the swimming pool. There is also private parking.

Mountains, sea and lakes are 50 miles away. Thermal baths, riding-school, tennis court, mountain-bikes (to rent) in the surroundings (10-20 minutes by auto). Beautiful walks in the countryside.

Villa Murrice in April 2009

My spouse, 14 year old daughter and me spent three weeks at Villa Murrice in April 2009 as part of a sabbatical leave. Our first contact with the owners was very positive. We wired funds from overseas in advance of our stay without any difficulty and the final accounting at the end of our stay was fair and accurate. The electricity and gas meters were in good working order and the readings taken by the owners were fair. One of the villa's strongest point is its location: about 10 minutes by car from Siena or from the main road to Florence, yet located on a quiet road in the lovely Tuscan hills. The house has a lot of charm and the grounds are lovely. We rented the larger apartment; it was spacious and extremely clean. The owners speak many languages including fluent French and English. They were discrete yet willing to help and provide useful information on the area whenever we asked. We cannot comment on the use of the pool: it was closed as we were too early in the season. The villa is well placed to visit many interesting villages. We particularly enjoyed San Gimignano, Radda in Chianti, both close by, and Montepulciano. In summary, we enjoyed our stay at the villa very much and recommend it for short and for long stays.

Too bad that this 5 days stay in may 2009 was so short!

We enjoyed every bit of it.
On top of so romantic Tuscany we appreciated the lodjing, brand new renovation which has been done with taste & according to the typical architecture of this 18th century mansion.
Wonderful park, big swiming pool, perfect location 6 km from Siena center & at the door of the most picturesque parts of Tuscany.
On top of it, unusual friendly owners, mother & daughter wo would bee delighted to give you every tips you might wish concerning where to go what to see, where to eat, in a region they themsevles truly love.
A perfect place which we are glad to recommend.

Villa in Tuscany

The villa is ideally situated to explore the wonderful countryside of Tuscany.My wife and I and two other adults rented the villa the first week of Sept 2008, the temperature was between 30 and 35 degrees C each day and after visiting the hill towns of Tuscany it was great to come back and refresh ourselves by the pool, which is quite large and very clean. The bedrooms are quite large and the house and courtyard are also clean and well maintained.Many thanks to Giada and her Mother for all the help they gave us, and for making our stay at their villa so enjoyable. We will certainly recommend this property to our friends.
