Villa Adriana is an attractive, privately owned villa with a large 50 sq metre heated swimming pool located just minutes from Historic Obidos on Portugal's unspoilt Silver Coast; about a 45 minute drive north of Lisbon, 20 minutes from vibrant Peniche and just 15 minutes from the internationally renowned Championship Golf Course at Praia D’El Rey. The nearest golden sandy beach is a mere 6 miles away at Foz do Arelho and you can get sea views only 300 yards from the house. The villa is set in 6000 sqm of land with oak and pine trees and on the slope of a hill that tapers away into a small ravine. Own private swimming pool set in landscaped gardens, and surrounded by fruit orchards trees and rambling vineyards. The peace and tranquillity of the setting make this location the perfect family getaway with plenty of room and all the privacy you will need for a truly relaxing and memorable holiday. Near all major attractions including Fatima, Alcobaca, Obidos and with all amenities.

Villa Adriana is located 45 minutes north of Lisbon Airport & 4 miles from the motorway A-8 motorway at Obidos. The house is on the edge of the village of Bom Vento & is within easy reach of all the major attractions, surf camps, supermarkets, Golf resorts & golden sandy beaches. There are a number of open air markets selling a range of goods including fresh produce at really amazing prices. Caldas da Rainha, Foz de Arelho and Obidos which are all minutes away by car have a number of DIY stores, excellent restaurants serving Portuguese and international cuisine. In the immediate vicinity of the villa, you can also find a few good restaurants who specialising in Portuguese fare but most especially in seafood dishes. There is a bank, three cafe-bars, a mini market and a few other shops just 300 metres away from the house. The nearest beaches at Foz are spectacular and have all the facilities you would expect to find at a top location by the sea with ample room for kids to enjoy.

Additional information about rental rates

  • Rates include cleaning and laundry before and after visit. If additional maid services are required during your stay, this can be arranged at an additional cost. Electricity and water are included in the rates. During the winter months, or cold spells during the other periods, a central heating surcharge will apply. Please clarify the details with the owners. A fully refundable security deposit of €300.00 will apply to all bookings unless otherwise arranged with the owners. This amount is payable 4 -6 weeks prior to arrival at the villa. The deposit will be refunded within 10 working days after leaving the villa.
    Booking minimum: 5 nights Payment by bank transfer: 30% deposit on confirmation of booking. Balance 70% is usually payable 60 days before arrival or as arranged with the owner. Rental charges during the Christmas / New Year and Easter break will be at peak rates. All other bank holidays, including the busy half-term school breaks will be charged at normal rates.
  • The caretaker will be on hand to ensure that everything goes smoothly on your holiday. They will make sure that everything is to your satisfaction in the villa. They will also be able to advise you on local restaurants, shopping and places to visit, as well as being available for any 'emergencies' that may arise. You will be glad to know that just 300 metres down the road is a string of shops, including a small café, bank and mini Mercado. The villa has no immediate neighbours giving guests the added privacy and the freedom to party on into the wee hours should they wish it.

  • All the bathrooms are fitted with bidets, washbasins with vanity mirrors and lighting. The house uses a Combination boiler for hot water to the showers and baths. Each bathroom is tastefully decorated in a modern style in keeping with the rest of the villa. The bathroom as are all of good size and are light, bright and airy.

Notes: The Entertainment centre is one of the largest and most well-equipped you will find and has something for everyone. It has seating for at least 10 persons and is provided with the latest audio-video systems with Dolby pro-logic amp for watching movies with cinema sound. There is even an IPOD / MP3 docking station that is hooked up for amplified sound. There is a child cot, high chair and wheelie buggy for kids which can be provided if you request these in advance. The villa has a child mattress and sheets for the cot but you will need to bring your own blanket and pillow in keeping with Health and safety requirements stipulated in the house rules on page 6. There will be a small extra charge for the use of out of season heating and for firewood should this be required by guests.

If we had only one word to describe the villa it would be PERFECT! Even if the weather is not that good as it was for few days in our case there is everything you can possibly need to enjoy your holiday. We would love to recommend Villa Adriana to everyone.

great getaway

My family and I had a most relaxing and enjoyable holiday in this villa, which has all the amenities one could wish for. We enjoyed the countryside whilst being within short driving distance to restaurants and shops. A definite thumbs up on all points.

Memorable holiday in a wonderful villa.

We stayed in this great villa for 5 days at the end of June 2009 and wished we could have stayed longer. The villa definitely has got the wow factor when you open the front door. It is far more spacious than we expected and the master bedroom is huge and luxury 5 star quality. The enertainment systems made the holiday all the more enjoyable and the games room beside the large swimming pool was amazing. Beautiful views and complete privacy yet easy driving to all amenities. This house is great for a large group/family who want to escape to the countryside and have lots of barbeques and outdoor parties without disturbing the neighbours. The owner takes great pride in making your holiday enjoyable. Hope to come back some day .

Wonderful Relaxed Holiday

We just stayed at Villa Adriana for 7 nights and really had a great time. Two really good restaurants very close to the property which was dead handy, There is a small cafe / Bar called "Hortense" just a 5 minute walk into the village and a few shops, minimarket and bank nearby.
Based on a tip off from the owner, we had an amazing day at the Go Karting arena next town in Bombarral and also visited the Buddha Eden which is part of the Wine tour. Then to top it all, we spent most of the following day just chilling at the villa and getting some massages by the pool done by a local company. Just cost us €15.00 each.
The swimming pool here is heated which was most useful during the evenings when it sometimes got a bit chilly. Extremely well equipped house- One of the previous guests wrote in his review about the luxury mastersuite - Well, it is all true, could have been in a top notch hotel! Very nice. This place is great for families as well as groups of friends, loads of space especially the big games room that is packed with stuff, TVs, playstation, Pool table etc.

We keep adding and improving as we go in order that our guests to feel completely at their ease and at home. Portugese Luxury

As a family of 5 we were seriously spoilt by the spaciousness of this luxury villa - the description belies the quality of accomodation on offer. An absolutely splendid pool and 'games/entertainment' room were real treats - especially during the windier days.
Everything about the villa was excellent - from the welcome and 'familiarisation' tour we received on arrival through to the helpful tips from Fatima (the cleaner) on places to go and things to do. the levels of equipment are superb, and the master bedroom suite would not be out of place in one of the best boutique hotels! It is very obvious that Brendon has great pride and attention to detail in the luxury accomodation, and we couldn't fault it.
I could not recommend the villa more highly, being set within beautiful countryside and an excellent base to explore this wonderful area of Portugal, and close enough to pop into the splendid city of Lisbon.
Many thanks to Brendon and his team for a fantastic holiday with truly greta care and customer service.
