A wonderful house in Funchal

We are two families with teenagers and we had a very nice holiday in this beautiful, really spacious house in Funchal. The house is everything that the site says and even more. The internet connection is really good and all the technology (home cinema etc) is almost unbelievable. Even the teenagers were impressed! :))
Everything is very clean and comfortable and designed in a good taste. It can be seen that the owner has thought about even the smallest details. Like others have said before me, José was a very nice and helpful host! He speaks very good English, too.
I would recommend this house to everybody, but I would also like to point out some details for considering! The house is situated 1.5-2 km from the centre, not far away, but it's on the steep hillside, so the walk to the centre and back would not be everybody's cup of tea. We usually took a taxi! Of course, this location gives you these terrific views over the port of Funchal.
There are some quite noisy dogs in the neighbourhood! Other than that, it is a very quiet and nice street, in the middle of local people, so different from the tourist areas.
One thing that we missed was a separate toilet or bathroom downstairs - there are 3 bathrooms in the house, but all of them are ensuite and upstairs. So, one of the bedrooms is without a bathroom and the person(s) who stay there have to use the bathroom that is attached to another bedroom. But of course, this is a very small minus next to all the pluses that this beautiful house has.
We will always remember our nice breakfasts and candlelight evenings on the wonderful terrace of Villa Dragoeiro...

Owner's Response: Thank you for your kind review. I understand your surprise with the hills on Madeira. Villa Dragoeiro is 200 meters up the sea level and at Estonia the highest hill has 300 meters up the sea level. Is one of ours attractions for ours visitors but sometimes not very comfortable. If you are looking for to know a little of the kind of life of madeirian people, their costumes, etc. it´s a good choice spend some days in a local house, completely different of a hotel. It was really nice to meet you and will be a pleasure to receive you in future.
