Dar Lazuli is a 200 year old riad in Essaouira on Morocco's Atlantic Coast. The riad has been renovated to a high standard using contemporary designs, giving it a light, airy and tranquill feel. This holiday accommodation in Essaouira consists of 4 boutique self-catering apartments which can be rented individually. The riad is also perfect for exclusive use by a family or group of friends, sleeping 8-10 in total. The apartmenst have a huge double bed, open fireplace, bathroom with ‘Rainfall’ shower, sitting and dining areas and small kitchen. The riad is cleaned on a daily basis by Latifa, who can also prepare traditional Moroccan meals for you.

Essaouira has a temperate climate, so makes a great year round destination, especially for those seeking winter sun. Listed as one of the world’s best beaches, Essaouira is well-known for watersports including surfing, kite surfing and windsurfing. You can also rent a quad bike & explore the sand dunes, or take a camel or horse trek along the coast. For the less adventurous, the broad sandy beaches are perfect for long walks & the sea is great for swimming. Wander the narrow streets & souks in the medina, watch the fishermen bringing in the daily catch at the port, pay a visit to the wood workshops, or simply find a café in the main square – Place Moulay Hassan, & watch the world go by. The annual Gnaoua or Gnawa World Music Festival in June features a great line up of musicians and artists from all over the world.
