Set in an ideal location for holidaying in Cornwall. Close to the beaches of Bude and Widemouth to the north with surfing paradise Polzeath as well as hidden secrets such as Tregirls and Trevone to the south. There is nowhere in the world more beautiful than Rock with it's white paradise sands. The adjoining beach of Daymer Bay with the tidal estuary, safe bathing and sand dunes to explore mean it's ideal for families. Next door to Daymer is St. Enodoc and the famous church unearthed from the sands, which is Sir John Betjemans final resting place. The exquisite Camel trail (a former railway line) is a safe cycle to Padstow via Wadebridge and /or Bodmin. The pretty fishing villages of Padstow, Port Isaac or Boscastle are also a must to visit. Tintagel with the legendary King Arthurs Castle is just 15 mins drive away. The Haunting Bodmin Moor with it's wild ponies and two highest points of Cornwall are close by as are the many coastal walks and attractions of our beautiful area.

Fantastic property

TMWL Guildford
Review Submitted: November 10, 2009 Date of Stay: March 2009
This is a fantastic spacious property. Eight of us (4 couples) stayed over the Easter holidays and had a great time. We took advantage of some good weather and had a couple of barbeques outside in the huge garden.

The house backs onto a really good 18 hole golf course - we were given preferential green fees as we were staying at Bowood which was a nice touch.

The conservatory is lovely with great views from upstairs and doownstairs.

There is load of stuff to do locally such as visits to the beach, golf, walks and cycling the camelford trail.

Hopefully we will be coming back soon.

Bowood Park

Popstar Worcestershire
Review Submitted: September 29, 2009 Date of Stay: July 2009
We had a wonderful time at Bowood Park in July 2009. My family, which consisted of 6 adults, found the property to be extremely comfortable, spacious and clean. Although the weather was not very good, we still enjoyed our time in Cornwall, mainly due to the fact that the house was so nice that we were very happy to stay indoors when it rained (and it did rather a lot!).

There are lots of nice beaches, pubs and restaurants nearby to suit all tastes. We particularly liked the St Kew pub, but you have to book in advance as it is very popular. It is also not far to go to Padstow; we parked our cars at Rock and took the ferry across. Rick Stein's Seafood Restaurant is definitely worth a visit!

Excellent, spacious holiday home

Review Submitted: September 27, 2009 Date of Stay: August 2009
This is a superbly spacious property, that can comfortably accommodate 9 people. My children had a fantastic time running around the house and the garden and they loved the Wendy House.
The conservatory is excellent with beautiful views from upstairs and doownstairs and when the sun comes out it is a lovely warm place to sit and relax.
The property is not far from some fantastic beaches and is also close to several shops, take aways and banks making everything very accessable.
Thank you for a wonderful holiday, we will definately be coming back.

Review and feedback on Bowood Park House

brisaac Edinburgh
Review Submitted: September 20, 2009 Date of Stay: June 2009
We were pleasantly surprised when we stayed at Bowood Park House in September 2008 - so much so, we re-booked for a week's holiday in June 2009 and again in October 2009 - and that includes a 1000 mile round trip to and from Edinburgh each time.

The house has a large living room ideal for kids to sprawl out their games or for adults to chill out and chat, watch a film or read. There's a decent dining room, conservatory, a large kitchen diner and utility room. The large garden is ideal for the kids to run around in. Upstairs there is a triple room (with ensuite), double room and 2 twin rooms (1 with ensuite), master bathroom and a further large landing area with sofas and tv.

The location offers quiet surroundings and a view over low hills and the greens of the local golf course.

There are amenities at nearby Camleford and loads of destinations within a 20 to 30 minute drive time. We found it a great base to make daytrips to the harbour town of Padstow (famous for Rick Stein's range of shops, eateries and restaurants); the great family beach and surf break of Polzeath, the tranquility of Port Isaac (where Dr Martin is filmed); Jamie Oliver's Fifteen resturant at Watergate Bay; the towns of Newquay and Wadebridge.

People told us that the roads in Cornwall were hopeless. It isn't so. We've made it to the hugely impressive Eden Project in St Austell in less sthan an hour and it didn't take that long to venture further afield to St Ives which offers the most attractive views of the ocean, the lure of the Tate and loads of little streets packed full of galleries and curios shops.

Each time we have holidayed with different friends - all of whom would return.

In a nutshell: spacious accommodation that allows a group to spend plenty of time together and, yet, have plenty of personal space. Peaceful setting and ease of access to loads of great destinations within a 20 to 60 min drive time.

Room for improvement? I'm guessing that the house dates from the late 1970's or early 1980's (I may be wrong). It's in fine decor throughout, but certain features are of their time (i.e colour and style of sanitaryware), but that isn't something we would really judge accommodation on particularly. The property doesn't have Wi-Fi which restricted our use of laptops, but we could get info from the internet via our Blackberries.

The owners were friendly and helpful with information requests.

Would highly recommend, but you'll need a car.

Review Submitted: September 3, 2009 Date of Stay: July 2009
Thank you for a wonderful holiday this summer. the house was very clean and well maintained and plenty of space for everyone. we especially loved the conservatory and often sat in there at night together as a family. The house was in an ideal situation to visit many wonderful places in Cornwall. We would certainly recommend it and would love to go back. Excellent customer service.
