Chalet Chocolat offers the discerning skier luxury catered chalet accommodation in a traditionally Swiss ski chalet in Nendaz with 6 large bedrooms (3 doubles, 3 twins), 4 bathrooms with large open-plan living area and underfloor heating, furnished to a high standard and very close to the slopes,lifts and village centre. This spacious new chalet has a Flat Screen HD TV, Bose iPod dock, WiFi, PS3, luxury Egyptian cotton bedlinen, French Oak dining table to easily seat 12, balconies, terraces, amazing views, garage, driveway and easy access by car & is on the ski bus shuttle route. The 4 Valleys ski area has high altitude skiing (3330m)for all levels, from beginners to expert skiers and includes the famous resort of Verbier. Nendaz is a pretty family friendly year-round resort. At the heart of the 4 Valleys ski area, linked to Verbier, Nendaz owns the Mont Fort glacier which provides high altitude skiing for all levels of skiers from beginners to expert. The off-piste is renowned and the area boasts snow sure skiing with plenty of snow canons. Nendaz is also a snowboarding centre and caters for cross-country skiing. As well as the winter sports, paragliding, tennis, walking, swimming, white-water rafting, golf and horse-riding are also available, making this an all-year round resort in the beauty of the Swiss Alps. If you wish to sightsee, Sion is an impressive medieval fortress town and hosts many cultural events, whilst Nendaz is a family friendly village with plenty of shops, cafes, restaurants and bars for all ages. In the summer, the village is lively with walkers, families and mountain-biking enthusiasts as the 98 kms of the local ancient irrigation system, the 'Bisses', are a perfect way to appreciate the stunning views.

Ski: Nendaz is nestled at the heart of the 4 Valleys ski area and linked by two lifts from its famous neighbour, Verbier, the area covers over 400 kms of pistes using 92 lifts. One of only 7 ski domains worldwide to receive the merit of 5* excellence and reaching an altitude of 3330m on the glacier at Mont-Fort, the skiing and snowboarding is varied and unsurpassable, with Nendaz firmly on the World Cup circuit for both skiing and snowboarding. The skiing is excellent for all levels and holds the coveted Swiss Tourist Board's 'Family Friendly' badge. Situated in Switzerland’s sunniest region, the canton of Valais, it boasts over 300 days sunshine a year, with an excellent snow record and snow-making facilities guaranteeing resort runs from early December through to late April. Sitting at an altitude of approx. 1400m, Nendaz itself, is a pretty alpine village with spectacular views of the Rhone Valley. It‘s excellent car and rail links from Geneva mean a transfer time of just over 1.5 hour

Fantastic Chalet!

We stayed at Chalet Chocolat for the 2009 New Year and had an amazing time. The chalet is new and all rooms are to a high standard and the views from the balcony down to Sion are impressive. The chalet owners (Brian and Elaine – web search skichocolat.com) were really helpful during the booking process and provided lots of useful information.

Just in case you feel like a half day rest, the chalet has a flat screen TV and PS3 and games at the chalet. We got addicted to FIFA 2009 and Call of Duty! The kids also enjoyed doing some ‘bum whizzing’ near the chalet.

As for the food, it was to the highest standard we have had in a ski chalet. Nikko, the local chef made a cooked to order breakfast and then you return from skiing to tea/coffee and cakes. The three course dinners were out of this world, with food such as: tiger prawns, roast lamb, salmon and beef on the menu.

The chalet is a short walk to Nendaz where there are many good restaurants and shops. For skiing, we rented a locker near the gondola base, which worked out very well.

Nendaz links in well to the four valleys area from the Tracouet gondola, or there is a ski bus which takes you to the very nice area of Siviez. It makes a nice change from being based at Verbier. We have stayed in Verbeir before, but prefer the laid back feel of Nendaz.

We will definitely be staying at Chalet Chocolat again and highly recommend it!

Chalet Chocolat : A great experience

We were a group of 6 persons and stayed here during the first week of March. The chalet is pretty new and is obviously in great condition. Also, it has pretty much the perfect location. Not in the center, but 5-10 mins walking distance from the lift.

Also the place has TV, PS3, DVD's, books, cd's, etc. But the best part is the chef, Nico. He is not only very good in his cooking but is enthusiastic and took very good care of us. We definitely overate throughout the week :(

And views of the valley from the chalet are just great. We are definitely coming back...............

Superb!

We spent half-term week in February 2009 at the chalet with another family. The chalet is brand new and well equipped to a high specification. We all appreciated the spacious feel, the level of comfort, and warmth; the kids appreciated the DVDs and Playstation!). Another major plus was the superb local chef, Nicolas, who served up a delicious three course meal each evening, plus a cooked breakfast, and cakes for tea (including pancakes on request). We enjoyed conversing with him in a mixture of our rusty French and his basic English. Although we never met the chalet maid, on return from skiing each day the rooms were clean and the beds made. The only problem was a shortage of hot water which meant rationing showers after skiing, but this may have been due to several power cuts during the week. The chalet's location is not perfect but is more than adequate; about an eight minute (non hilly) walk from the centre of Nendaz and the main lift. The owner (Elaine) could not have been more helpful from the moment we booked. She kindly organised ski and boot storage at a shop next to the lift, so we didn't have to carry them to and fro each day; she also offered to arrange or assist with airport transfers, ski passes, equipment hire, ski school etc, which was very helpful too. Nendaz itself is a typical Swiss ski village; it has a reasonable range of ski runs which become spectacular once you realise its easy to link across to Verbier and other resorts via lifts or bus. We went during half-term so it was very busy, but queuing was not as bad as I've experienced at other European resorts. In summary, Chalet Chocolat is the best chalet we've ever stayed in, and we'd definitely recommend it, and consider going again...and the kids want us to hire Nicolas to be our full time chef!

Great value - classic style chalet in 4 Valleys

We had a wonderful week at Chalet Chocolat. The chalet is about a 5-7 minute walk to the main area of Nendaz and the ski lift (only one lift in town - and it was broken one morning). Several bars and restuarants in the town for some nightlife. There is ample room for off-street parking, and since our group was into black ski trails - we drove up to Sieve or took the bus (bus stop about 100meters down the road) to more quickly access the best sking in the 4 valleys.
The chalet is new, clean, open floor plan with sizable LR area to sit around and talk or relax after a hard days skiing. The bedrooms are small but cerainly fine, beds and linens/pillows/towels were very nice. This chalet works perfectly for three families - which is what our clan was.
The chef, Nicolas, prepared wonderful meals, and was very pleasant. Overall, I would rate it a 9 out of 10. I understand they are to be putting in a hot tub/spa but it was not yet installed when we were there. There was minor room for improvement, however, for the price, we felt we got great value, would certainly stay there again or reccomend ti to families looking for a nice clean new chalet with access to lots of great skiing.
