There is an historic castle, a fascinating market on Saturdays, and lots of interesting shops for you to peruse. There are also attractions like the Severn Valley Railway running from Bridgnorth to Kidderminster and which passes Astbury Falls at Eardington where you can simply stand and return the happy waves of the passengers on the steam train if you haven’t taken a ride. You can either dine on the railway, or stop at any of the main towns and dine locally. There is the ability to hire a canoe from Bridgnorth, paddle down the Severn, have a pub lunch, and ride back on railway. Astbury is only a mile or so from Chelmarsh, and walking or riding on the Jack Mytton Way is a great way to spend time when staying at Bentley Lodge. Bentley Lodge Weekend Stay

Review Submitted: September 27, 2009 Date of Stay: September 2009
We came for a romantic weekend break for my wife's 30th birthday and i can honestly say it was amazing. The pictures are beautiful but don't do it justice. Inside the lodge is everything you could need. Jan & Paul are very welcoming through booking and on arrival. There is so much to do out and about. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and will definitely be booking to go back again. Thanks Jan & Paul
Owner's Response: Thanks for your wonderful comments. We try hard to make booking; arranging; travelling and arrival all a smooth process, and Jan does go the extra mile with personal welcomes. We have been very fortunate to have 2 couples stay at Bentley Lodge in Astbury Falls with this name... a very unusual co-incidence.. but a very happy one, and we look forward to welcoming both couples back.. and perhaps being host to even more.

Review Submitted: November 10, 2009 Date of Stay: November 2009
The lodge was really excellent and exceeded our expectations. We would certainly recommend the property to friends and indeed have already done so. There was such a lot to do and see in the surrounding area even in the Autumn. The sauna was superb!
Owner's Response: Its nice to come back to Bentley Lodge after a hard day sight-seeing to a wonderful sauna!!!

Relaxing Weekend Away

Longshanks Warrington
Review Submitted: August 24, 2009 Date of Stay: August 2009
The pictures on the internet do not do justice to how beautiful this lodge actually is. I spent a thoroughly enjoyable weekend relaxing there with my girlfriend. Its hard to describe how utterly serene the atmosphere in and around the lodge was and i came away feeling like i had been gone for much longer.

The local town of Bridgenorth is stunningly picturesque and there are plenty of things to keep you occupied.

I would certainly recommend a visit to these lodges and me and my girlfriend will definaley be going back.
Owner's Response: Thank you for your comments.

We are so glad you were undisturbed during your stay, and got the relaxation you had dreamed of.

We look forward to seeing you both return...perhaps for an even longer break.

romantic weekend break

Kate & James Ombersley
Review Submitted: March 11, 2009 Date of Stay: March 2009
I took my partner here for a surprise long weekend break, we pulled up to the lodge and were greeting by Jan who gave us a lovely warm welcome. The lodge itself was in an ideal location just a couple of minutes drive from the town and short walk from local pubs. Jan & Paul left us wine, chocolates and fresh fruit which I thought was a lovely touch. The property was beautifully furnished throughout, well equipped with everything you could possibly need from a picnic basket & ipod speakers to a bread maker! The weather was great when we first arrived so we made the most of it and sat on the terrace with a bottle of wine - here you could here the running water from the weir and occasionally the hooting from the SVR. Whist we were there we took the opportunity to try clay pigeon shooting & quad biking at the "edge adventure centre" - well worth a visit! Overall I really couldn't recommend this tranquil lodge enough, it's a beautiful place in a beautiful location with a hole host of local attractions and activities - you can do as much or as little as you like! Thanks again will look forward to seeing you both in the near future. x
Owner's Response: Its a pleasure to host couples who enjoy the area and its plethora of activities and places to visit as well as enjoying our lodge.
