La Maddalena - Island - Sardinia holiday rental - amazing semi-detached villa situated above the harbour of La Maddalena town. La Maddalena is the largest island in the beautiful La Maddalena Arch. National Park and the only market town in the islands. The town is made up of old streets lined with eighteenth century buildings built from local granite. The town's bustling market and numerous restaurants, shops and cafes are all within easy walking distance. The recently renovated property is set back above the road with a huge shady terrace on the upper floor allowing incredible panoramic views of the town, the harbour, and mainland Sardinia across the sea. 3 double bedrooms and 2 bathrooms (one with jacuzzi bath), living room, dining room, kitchen. Plenty of nearby parking and only a 5 minute drive for the car ferry to the mainland. With central access to the town's amenities. Perfect location to enjoy the amazing beauty of the La Maddalena island and the region.

“La Maddalena” is connected to Sardinia 'Palau' by ferry- boats, every twenty minutes. La Maddalena is the only island of the archipelago that presents a steady urban settlement. You can admire the sea side with the typical line of XVIII century buildings. There are well maintained steps and narrow alleys that give a unique image to the historic centre. In above the old fort of S. Andrea is visible. In the past it used to be utilized as a prison. Walking through the island you can admire the small beautiful beaches as Monti d'Arena, beach of Bassa Trinità or of the Giardinelli Island. Leaving the Maddalena and passing through the breakwater of Passo della Moneta that joins the islands you can reach the Island of Caprera.This island was partially bought by Giuseppe Garibaldi who has lived there and died in 1882, a hundred years later the natural reserve was established and united to the National Park. The 2009 G8 Summit is going to be held in La Maddalena.
