Mouans-Sartoux holiday apartment: Mouans Sartoux

Our family visited in August this year and stayed in the studio/villa of the owners neighbours due to the unavailability of either of her own studios. We booked very late and did not think we would get anywhere at such short notice, but Amanda the owner, was extremely helpful and really went out of her way to make sure we got sorted out.

Our Studio/Villa was clean, very well equipped and although not huge was more than adequate for a family of 4 for the week. We had a lovely terraced patio/veranda area with stunning views over the village and the mountains beyond Grasse. We made use of the barbeque on more than one occasion! Watch out for the mossies though!

We also had the use of the owners private swimming pool which was a godsend in the August heat.

Unless you’re after a total chill out holiday and aren’t planning on moving from the pool, I would say a car is essential. There is a fairly good train service from Mouans Sartoux to the coast, but to really explore the area you’ll need a car. Be prepared to sit in a few traffic jams though, especially in and around the more popular tourist areas.
Some of the places we visited were, Cannes, (amazing if you’re into people watching and fast cars!) Antibes, Grasse, and St Paul de Vence. Unfortunately we only discovered the charming village of Mougins on our last evening where, we had a wonderful meal in one of the many fine(and reasonably priced) restaurants there.

Amanda is very knowledgeable about the area and she gave us a full run down when we arrived of places to see, the best beaches to visit, when and where for local markets etc, etc..! She also sorted us out with some basic foodstuffs when we arrived late on the Sunday afternoon. (And, helped us order a pizza over the phone!)

We had a super holiday on what was our first visit to the South of France, hopefully it won’t be our last, and I would have no hesitation in staying in this accommodation, or this area again.
