Location, Location, Location!

My husband and I spent 18 days in this charming apartment. The location is perfect. It is in the heart of Recoleta and within walking distance of areas of interest and great restaurants.
The owner was a pleasure to deal with and her agent, Carlos, in Buenos Aires was a gem. He always appeared promptly if we had a question or problem. He was also a terrific source of information on Buenos Aires.
I will say that this is not a 5 star hotel quality apartment. The furniture is serviceable but not high end. However, The bed is comfortable which is the most important thing for us. Also, I liked being able to walk out on the balcony in the morning and see what the weather was like. We always travel with a computer so the the WiFi which, was very reliable kept us in contact with our family and friends at home.
The apartment is a short walk away from the 5 star Alvear Palace Hotel where I was able to book side trips to Le tigre and San Antonio De Agreco. I recommend these side trips and if you book through the hotel request the guide named Alex. He is excellent!
There are many good restaurants within walking distance. The Rodi Bar just across the street on the corner is convenient for morning coffee and croissant but a big vice of ours, for lunch, became their lomo solo (Filet mignon) sandwich and fries with a glass of wine all for about ten US dollars.
The bottom line here is that this is a real apartment building with real people in the best area of Buenos Aires. If you enjoy getting a genuine feel of being part of a neighborhood and to really get a feel for the culture of a place then this is the apartment for you.
Just writing this review makes me homesick for Buenos Aires.
We definitely plan to return to Buenos Aires and we will come back to this apartment.
