Casa Velha ('Old Home') has been newly built using the colours and style of Portuguese colonial architecture, with a single central courtyard, typical of the colonial past, overlooked by romantic wooden balconies. It consists of only a few clean elegant apartments and stylish reception, cafe and bar. The penthouse apartment has the romance of sea views, seclusion and privacy ideal for 2, but can sleep 4 easily. A short stroll to the beach, beach restaurants and Sal Rei, and a short drive from the airport.

Less than 10 mins drive from Boa Vista International Airport (BVC). We can arrange for airport transfer to/from Casa Velha in advance. Car hire is not essential, but can be organized after arrival. There are direct flights to BVC from Gatwick and Manchester, or indirect flights via Sal from Birmingham. Please contact us if you need help. The local small town is Sal Rei, a short stroll from the apartment. This is a new resort, so new facilities and buildings are appearing all the time

Large private terrace, with sea views, 4 large sofas, outside table and chairs etc. It hardly ever rains, so this is fantastic living space. The bedroom has a romantic wooden balcony, the highest point around and therefore wide views. Facing south-west, ideal for watching the sun setting over the sea. Sheets and towels (not beach towels) provided. Changed weekly. The penthouse is cleaned weekly. Extra cleaning & laundry can be supplied by arrangement with Casa Velha management. Breakfast available. Not suitable for disabled or young children, due to stairs.

We had a fantastic week - everything about Boa Vista, Casa Velha and the penthouse apartment was perfect for us. Boa vista is currently largely undeveloped and uncommercialised and it is a privledge to be able to see it and spend time in it "as it is". The staff at Casa Velha are first class, the apartment is large, spacious and equipped with everything you need for your holiday. You can get breakfast in the bar everyday and drinks as necessary(!). It is just a short walk to both the beach and the centre of Sal Rei which has plenty of good places to eat and the rest of the island is easily explored on a quad bike. A perfect place to chill out and do nothing!
