Half way between Florence & Rome, on the border of Umbria and Tuscany, Citta della Pieve, a charming medieval town, is 3kms drive from the property with excellent facilities of bank, post office, hospital, pharmacy, restaurants & 2 supermarkets. Citta della Pieve plays host to a variety of festivals throughout the year including the renowned medieval Palio dei Terzieri in August as well as home to Umbria's most famous artist 'Il Perugino'. Perugia, Orvieto, Assisi and Lake Trasimeno are easily reached as well as Southern Tuscany where you will find the stunning towns of Siena, Montepulciano, Pienza & Cortona. The property is accessible from all of the major airports (Rome, Pisa, Florence) with the nearest airport in Perugia (40kms) with direct Ryan Air flights to and from London. Easily reached is the A1 Rome-Florence motorway (18kms) with the nearest train station in Chiusi (10kms) where hire cars are also available. Florence and Rome are an easy day trip on the train from Chiusi.

  • Private walking tours of Southern Tuscan towns (Montepulciano/Pienza) can be arranged where you might indeed be fortunate enough to meet the Mayor of Montepulciano (as did some of our guests) and have one of the grandest and oldest buildings in Montepulciano kept open for their private use.

    An extensive information folder with day trip suggestions, local activities, restaurants, etc. has also been provided with maps for your convenience.

Swimming Pool: Set in an open position with panoramic views is a large 20 x 50 x 4.2ft pool with adjoining childrens pool. Blue mosaic tiles decorate the interior of the pool and sunbeds, umbrellas and outdoor shower are provided. The pool is a perfect place for swimming, sunbathing and relaxing as well to watch the magnificent sunsets and to take in the lights of the hilltowns in the distance. Maximum depth 4.2ft. There is also a large raised terrace area which is perfect for balmy evenings with a glass of wine to sit and watch the sunsets and the lights of the hilltowns in the distance.

Both my wife and I enjoyed our stay. The attention to detail of the property and information pack provided were first class. We made full use of the swimmimg pool and enjoyed the tranquill setting. Acess to restaurants, bars and other facilities was easy. Several local restaurants proved very successful. Good food, wine,service and in most cases fabulous views.The infomation pack and guides proved invaluable both with details of places to go and many travel hints and suggestions. If touring many great places to visit. I would however advise that you check the dates of various festivals that are on and time your vacation accordingly. Some festivals should not be missed.

Just spent a delightful week in this lovely apartment. The area is idyllic and there are so many fantastic places to visit.

I must give a special mention to all the thoughtful touches in the apartment - olive oil, generous welcome hamper, the fluffy dressing gowns....... it all adds up to a wonderful holiday

It is almost impossible to find fault with this beautiful apartment. Carmelle has thought of just about everything to ensure that we had a comfortable and enjoyable holiday. All the bedding, linen etc is very good quality and very clean, and the apartment is beautifully furnished, with everything you might need (iron/hair dryer etc). The location is stunning and peaceful, with plenty to see and do in the area - a huge folder of tourist information is provided, and this was a great help to us.

Beautiful appartment on a lovely spot

Our small family (3 persons) had a lovely stay in Carmelle's appartment. It was tastfully decorated, the views were stunning. The pool was big and so quiet and peacefully. With thanks to Frans, he helped us a lot. Citta della Pieve is such a lovely city with all the nice Italian people. Certainly a beautiful spot in a wonderful area.
