We live on the boarder land from Piedade, Caminho de Cima 33. Above the fisherman - village Calhau. From our natural grown garden, quiet and protected against the wind, you have a beautiful view over the Atlantic Ocean and the neigbour island Sao Jorge. You spend your day in a quiet, rural environment. Here you can plan your trips and let the day end. We offer our guests also a welcome-dinner on the first day, when you spend your vacation here with us in our typical acorian lavastone house.

It is a holiday studio for 2 persons situated in the ground floor of our old, with love renovated, typical Açorian lavastone house. We can offer you a beauty appartement for your stay. Fitted with a small kitchen, bathroom with shower, combined living-bedroom and a big terrace.

Piedade is on the east end of the island Pico. The village is 130 m above the ocean. In the centre of the village you will find banks, supermarket and cafés, even an internet café. The environment is dominated by wine fields and grazing fields. For people of nature and traveler is this an always green island - the ideal place. On the east side live not many people. Even more and more fields lie fallow and convert to pasturage, the people cultivate wine, potatos, vegetables and corn for your own requirements. Between the fields is woodland and little lakes. Here on Pico, the people are more than on the other island, faithful to there old tradition. On the boarder from Piedade on the way to calheta is the beautiful 'parque Matos Souto'. The layout of the garden is marvellous and there is also a little lake and a house with birds.

Dies trifft sowohl auf die Insel selbst als auch auf die Gastgeber zu. Wer sich im Urlaub fernab vom Massentourismus wirklich erholen will, muss einfach nach Piedade zu Steffi und Toni kommen!
Wir waren im Juli 2007 mit Kindern für knapp zwei Wochen da und kommen bestimmt wieder.
Zur Insel selbst:
Die üppige Vegetation und die kargen Lavasteine bilden einen faszinierenden Kontrast.
Wasserratten sei gesagt: das Meer ist herrlich! Nur auf einen Sandstrand muss man in Piedade verzichten; hier geht jeder im Hafen schwimmen. Keine Sorge, der Hafen ist nicht zugemüllt und voller Öl und sonstigem, wie man das vielleicht kennt, sondern sehr sauber!
Zu den FeWo´s:
Hier hat man alles, was man braucht. Es ist alles sehr sauber, zweckmäßig und liebevoll eingerichtet.

Alles in Allem nur zu empfehlen!

Un paradis aux Açores

Séjour sur Pico 11 - 18 juin 2007
Lors de notre première venue dans l'archipel des Açores, ces îles en plein milieu de l'Atlantique se sont partiellement dévoilées en nous offrant de-ci de-là des panoramas ressemblant à des oasis vertes au milieu d'une mer turquoise.
La luminosité des couleurs, la pureté de l'air et la tranquilité sur ces bouts de terre sont tout simplamnet extraordinaires.
L'accueil de Steffi et Toni, la possibilité de pouvoir loger dans une maison typique de l'île et le superbe design intérieur du studio ont contribué à rendre très agréables ces quelques jours passés sur Pico.
Sûr que nous reviendrons ici en espérant pouvoir lever "d'autres coins de voile" des Açores

Es hat einfach alles gepasst.
Toni und Steffi (natürlich auch die Hunde und Katze)waren sehr Lieb und auch sehr hilfsbereit.
Das häuschen ist sehr knudellig und sauber.
Die Aussicht ist schön und liegt ruhig.
Man kann super wanderungen machen, schwimmen,eine Bootstour machen, oder einfach nur auf der Terasse liegen und geniessen.
Es gibt ein paar kleine Supermärkte in der nähe wo man das wichtigste bekommen kann.Wenn man keinen lust zum kochen hat dann können euch Steffi und Toni ein paar gute Restaurants empfehlen.Ein Auto ist schon sehr praktisch und ist zum empfehlen.
Ach ja wir waren ende August 2007 .

P:S:Rinder haben immer vorfahrt ,die laufen nämlich gerne mal auf der Strasse spazieren.

Urlaubsvergnügen

Hallo,
eine sehr schöne Fewo, gepflegt und sehr gut ausgestattet, es macht Spass darin zu wohnen.
Der Kontakt mit dem Besitzerpaar ist unkompliziert, ja familär und die Betreuung ist Spitze
Wir waren bereits zwei mal hier zu Gast und können es als Feriendomizil nur empfehlen.
Viele Attraktionen gibt es im Umkreis von 50km, sie sind gut zu erreichen, Adressen von guten Restaurants mit annehmbaren Preisen will ich nicht aufzählen, aber Steffi und Toni kennen diese und geben sie gern weiter.
Insgsamt lohnt es sich an diesem Ort Urlaub zu machen

Unser schönstes Urlaubsquartier

Ich war im Augut 2007 auf den Azoren im Urlaub. Drei Inseln habe ich mir angesehen, aber Pico war die Schönste. Wahrscheinlich weil hier die Ferienwohnung am perfektesten und die Vermieter am nettesten waren.
Die Werbung "Familienanschluß" kann man sehr angenehm wörtlich empfinden. Steffi & Toni verstehen es ohne Worte zu spüren, wann man Gesellschaft möchte und wann lieber nicht. Aus dem Grund kommen auch Alleinreisende auf ihre Kosten, denn man ist nur allein wenn man es wünscht. Die drei großen Hunde und eine Katze, bringen zusätzlich Spaß.
Natürlich sind die Fewos auch prima sauber und gepflegt, die Einkaufsmöglichkeiten sind auch ohne Auto gut und wenn es mal etwas Besonderes sein soll, bringt es Steffi auch gern von ihren Einkauf mit. (Riesen Dorade für wenig Geld und ganz frisch!!!)
Also ich flieg auf jeden Fall 2009 wieder hin!
