This quaint completely refurbished house is ideally situated, giving easy access to the whole of Slovenia. From the house you can venture to the lakes and mountains of Bled, Bohinj and Triglav National Park, visit the underground cave systems of Postonja, partake in one of the many adventure activities that are run on the river Soca or visit the stunning wine growing region of Goriska Brda. All three levels of the house are floored with pine whilst the kitchen is finished with terracotta tiles. The interior has been decorated in a modern fresh style without losing its original character. The kitchen is fully equiped. The living room has a flat screen TV and a DVD player. There is a stereo system on which you can also plug in your MP3 player. Along with the two main bedrooms that can sleep four, the sofa in the living room is a sofa bed that will accommodate two and we also have a futon that can be turned into a bed that will sleep two more. Last Christmas a bunch of us got together, and we travelled to Slovenia. We stayed in the lovely Turret House. It was cozy, well heated and comfortably slept the 6 of us. The weather was sunny and crisp with a beautiful white blanket of snow outside. We did some hiking, and travelled to lake Bohinj by steam train. There we has a day of skiiing and ice skating. The scenery was breadth taking.
Owner's Response: Our family holidays in Slovenia are filled with activites to suit us all. We've been to the Postnoja Caves, Predjama Castle, taken the famous steam Bohinj railway cutting through the Alps to Bohinj and Bled, and much more. We've done white water rafting, hang gliding, canyoning, diving and swimming, fishing, canoeing, kyaking, bicycling, and hiking. The trails are fantastic. At Kanal there are exciting diving championships and festivals all summer long. They even build an omega and hang climbing ropes over the beautiful Soca river for kids to play on! Stay at The Turret House house for a really fabulous vacation.

The perfect dream holiday

The house was old and quaint although newly refurbished and clean. The town of Kanal was equally attractive.The care taker spoke English and was extremely helpful with advice about recreational activities, restaurants, etc. We have 3 small children and 3 teenagers, and were inundated with activites to suit us all. We did white water rafting, hang gliding, bugy jumping, diving and swimming, fishing, canouing, kyaking, bicycling, and hiking. We took the famous steam Bohinj railway cutting through the Alps to Bohinj and Bled. The best part of the rental is that it comes with 6 mountain bikes - free of charge. There are numerous bike trails to choose from. Unfortunately we hadn't enough time to try them all. We recommend this house for a fabulous vacation.
