Originally part of the Duke of Norfolk estate’ the barns are situated in the small hamlet of Hollow Meadows, just 4 miles from Ladybower Reservoir in the lovely Peak District National Park and the famous Snake Pass, yet only 15mins from Sheffield City Centre. Nearly 700 lime trees line the Rivelin valley, making it the second longest lime tree avenue in Britain. Hollow Meadows holds a scattering of smallholdings, farms and dwellings and is ideal for exploring many bridleways and footpaths. Nearby are the impressive dam at Ladybower, used by the 'Dambuster' squadron to practise for their raid on the Ruhr Dams in 1945, and Hathersage, believed to have inspired Charlotte Bronte to write Jane Eyre. Edale, the start of the Pennine Way, and Sheffield, with its attractions and exciting nightlife, are only a short drive away. Sainsbury’s, Tesco and Waitrose are able to deliver grocery shopping direct to the properties.

Reunion Weekend

The barns were the perfect retreat for our reunion weekend. A little tricky to find from the road and we have suggested some sort of marker be put out on arrivals day! The Barns are directly adjacent to the farm, worth knowing if you have young kids, pets etc and Buttercup & Daisy could be heard via the bathroom vents at milking time. The conversions have been beautifully done, both barns come very well equipped and the beds etc are extremely comfortable. Views to die for, plenty of walks and close enough to local amentities and the city to satisfy anyone's needs. Fabulous area, would definitely recommend.

Perfect cottage for a perfect holiday

I cannot praise this cottage enough, we arrived as a party of 9 students from university and were so grateful to be welcomed where other people had rejected us! The cottage itself is beautiful inside and out and extremely well equipped with kitchen utensils, games, tv, bed linen and towels. It is well located, we visited Castleton, Bakewell, Kinderscout, Sheffield and the Derwent resevoir easily. Recommend Slippery Stones at the top of Derwent for a fun day out! The surrounding area is beautiful and there are lots of walking opportunities. The only criticism would be that the wireless signal was low, so don't depend on it! Thank you to a lovely, friendly fmaily for having us to stay.
