Naxos is a little known gem of a Greek island, nestled in the heart of the Cyclades, which also include the islands of Paros, Mykonos, Santorini and Ios. It is the largest and most fertile of the Cycladic islands and is rich with citrus orchards, olive groves and vineyards. Because of this agriculture has traditionally been the main source of income. With its fabulous beaches, picturesque villages, imposing mountains, lush valleys and historical sites, Naxos has something for everyone. Activities such as windsurfing, kite surfing, diving, cycling, walking and horse riding are all available locally. Throughout the countryside items of historical interest can be found including fortified watchtowers (pyrogoi), huge marble statues (kouroi) and numerous ancient churches. If arriving by ferry you will be greeted by the sight of the imposing Portara Gate from the unfinished Temple of Apollo, which dominates the port and has become the symbol of Naxos.

Lovelt villa. Nice location (a bit out of the way but if you want peace and quiet it's perfect). Very well fitted out. A couple of decent Tavernas nearby and Naxos is a great island for exploring. Note - we went out of the busiest season (mid-October).

We spent 10 days here in July 2008.

It’s a well appointed modern villa in a lovely peaceful location with great views, which was ideal for our family holiday. We were only the second people to stay in the Villa.

Thoughtfully furnished the villa provided everything we needed for a memorable holiday, a real home from home. The terrace and a balcony give the choice of lazing in the sun or relaxing in the shade.

It was only a short walk to the local sandy beaches and even closer was the local Taverna with its own pool and sun deck which we found to be welcoming at all times of the day.

We found a number of other excellent tavernas close to the villa and Naxos town was an easy 25 minute drive away which had a selection of both traditional Greek and International Bars and Restaurants. The main supermarkets were in Naxos town but we found the local Bakery and Mini-Markets, about 5 minutes away, sufficient for our day to day needs.

We spent two memorable days exploring inland by Car and Quad bike which we would certainly recommend to others.

The owners Graham and Sarah were most helpful with all queries and their local contact who met us at the Port was also a great help getting our holiday off to a great start with an easy transfer, advice on the local shops and places to visit.

We would definitely recommend this villa and when we return to Naxos in the future would certainly try to stay here again.
