This two bedroomed, two bathroomed, penthouse apartment was completely re-furbished in 2008 - including all new interior tiling, bathrooms, kitchen and furniture, plus a 32” flat screen satellite TV and DVD/CD player. The west facing balcony is equipped with a built-in barbeque, dining table and chairs - ideal for watching the sunset. The secluded roof terrace is equipped with sun loungers and has magnificent uninterrupted views of the ocean, the golf course and Mount Teide. The apartment is fully equipped with towels & linen, fridge, microwave/grill, hob, extractor, toaster, dishwasher, washing machine, ironing board and iron. The apartment sleeps 4 in two bedrooms. As befits the quality of the refurbishment no sofa beds are used. Local amenities include a supermarket, laundry, car hire and a beauty salon. Excursions can be booked at the Fairways Reception for Loro Parque, whale and dolphin watching and island tours. A taxi can be booked at reception.

Apt 221 is a 2 bed, 2 bath penthouse apartment (Apt 220 & 221 are identical) and was completely refurbished in 2008, with new interior tiling, bathrooms, kitchen and furniture, plus a a 32” flat screen satellite TV and DVD/CD player. The balcony is equipped with a built-in barbecue, dining table and chairs. The secluded roof terrace has sun loungers and magnificent un-interrupted views of the ocean, golf course and Mount Teide. The apartment is fully equipped with towels & linen, fridge, microwave/grill, hob, extractor, toaster, dishwasher, washing machine, ironing board and iron. 4 persons may sleep in two bedrooms and no sofa beds are used. Local amenities include supermarket, restaurants, laundry, car hire and a beauty salon. Excursions or taxis can be booked at the Fairways reception for local sights. Both apartments may be rented together to form a large 4 bedroomed, 4 bathroomed apartment as there are inter-communicating doors in one bedroom - which are otherwise locked.

Fairways is a lovely Andalusian style family complex with a superb swimming pool, island bar and separate children pool & play area. It is a secure, gated, complex close to the sea with magnificent landscaped gardens - a variety of bars and restaurants being nearby. Fairways is located on the Amarilla Golf & Country Club resort, which includes an 18 hole, par 72, course open to non-members. The resort is located a short distance from the TFI motorway and is a 15 minute drive from Tenerife South (Main) Airport. The resort includes a Marina, where scuba diving and submarine trips are available. A few hundred metres on there is a wide variety of restaurants, bars and shops. The lively resorts of Los Cristianos and Playa de las Americas are a 10/15 minute drive away to the west and 10 minutes to the east is Los Abrigos, an old fishing port with its many fish restaurants. The sandy beach of El Medano is 15 minutes by car and Siam Park, Europe's new water theme park, is 30 min away.

Notes: This is a penthouse apartment with access via an external stairway and has fantastic views from the roof terrace. However, the access would not be suitable for wheelchairs or infirm guests. Both this apartment and the one next door are identical and may be rented together to form a 4 bedroomed, 4 bathroomed apartment if you so wish as there are hotel style inter-connecting doors from one of the bedrooms. Otherwise these inter-communicating doors are always kept locked. Please note that the prices quoted are per week, per apartment. A lovely getaway!

We stayed here late February 2009, it was lovely to get away from the British winter and feel the sun on our skin once again.

Fairways is a really friendly complex, the staff couldn't have been more helpful and you can get a lovely breakfast and Sunday roast in the Island Bar. The pool area is pretty and was spotless when we were there. There were people cleaning it every day and the fIowers/plants were very attractive and well-kept. In fact, the area in general is very clean which is not always the case. The only downside for us (and it is a minor bugbear, but I'm being honest!) was the noise from the Karaoke at the nearby bar (not the Island Bar - I think it might have been the Premier Bar. It wasn't horrendous and certainly didn't wake my little boy up, but it was a bit annoying at times. I must stress, it stopped by 11pm on all but one night (which was the Saturday - I fell asleep at 12.30 am and it was still going. But I fell asleep so it clearly wasn't that loud!) The complex is very well located, only 10 minutes away from the airport (we soon got used to being on the flightpath, wasn't a problem for us at all) There are plenty of places to eat and small supermarkets nearby (well stocked if a bit pricey), but the nearest large supermarket could only really be reached by car. Also, the nearest bus stop is a good 10-15 minutes walk away, wasn't a problem for us but I could imagine in the heat of summer it wouldn't be much fun. Reception were always happy to call a taxi, and these were reasonably priced (15 Euros to the airport)

The apartment itself is nicely furnished and was very clean. The kitchen was well-equipped and the dishwasher a godsend! The bedrooms had plenty of storage space and the balcony was a lovely place to sit & soak up the sun. The balcony had a barbecue which we only actually used once as their were no tools and most of the kitchen utensils were plastic, we were scared of melting them! Who wants to cook on holiday anyway?! There is no air conditioning here, not a problem when we were there as the evenings were fairly cool but again, worth bearing in mind if you're planning a summer visit.

The owners communication was prompt and helpful, Ingrid provided us with excellent instructions on how to reach the property and who to contact if we had any problems (not that we had to at all) and we were given lots of helpful info about the local area.

We all had a good time and the holiday was all we hoped it would be.
Owner's Response: We think that Yoshi73's comments give a fair assessment of both the apartment and its location. It is a self-contained complex and also gives a choice of restaurants nearby, together with supermarkets which will provide all essentials. There is an even wider choice of restaurants 10/15 minutes walk away. The close proximity of the airport is not really a problem, although we are not sure of the exact timings of the flights. One of the entertainment bars has a late night and is open to guests staying at the complex. The entrance door is normally kept closed to prevent excess noise but, obviously, this will open and close as people enter and leave. If any further information is required please contact the owner.
