Local facilities:
La Cala is situated on the Cabo de la Nau road. There are a number of restaurants within 5 minutes drive of the house. A large selection of restaurants is available down in Javea which is only a ten minute drive. The centre for the restaurants is in Arenal and more restaurants are available in Javea port which is only a 20 minute drive.
The area is well served by supermarkets, there is one available only a 3 minute drive away, there is also a German supermarket only 2 minutes away that bakes great fresh bread every morning.
There are numerous supermarkets in Javea.
For shopping there are a number of small towns within half an hour drive: Denia,lovely shopping streets with small boutiques and a brand new shopping mall by the exit from the E7 motorway.
Moraira a quiet town with small boutiques, a selection of restaurants and a sandy beach.
Beaches:
The house is situated two minutes from the Mediteranian sea.
There are a number of small pebble beaches within ten minutes drive. The most famous of these is Granadella which was voted in the Guardian a couple of years ago as one of the ten best kept secret beaches. It is pebbly but very charming, with sun beds available for hire and a number of restaurants.
There is a lively sandy beach at the Arenal with lots of activities on the beach and many restaurants and bars on the sea front.
There are many sports facilities nearby. There are two tennis clubs within a kilometre and a horse riding club nearby (20 minutes drive).There are also a number of golf courses nearby. Javea Golf Club is a nine hole course 10 minutes drive and there is a Jose Maria Olazabel designed course at La Sella (the Mariott). If you go a little further afield, there is a championship course near Valencia called El Saler, which is considered the best course in Spain after Valderrama. There is also a badminton club in Javea.
