La Ruche was fully refurbished in 2001/2 and offers a family home within easy walking distance of the mediaeval village of Cotignac with its 6 restaurants, markets, shops and tree-shaded bars. FIRST FLOOR - Fully-equipped dining kitchen; living-room with sofa plus 4 easy chairs, log-burning fireplace, satellite TV/CD/DVD player and French windows to small balcony overlooking pool area and surrounding hills; 1 king-size bedroom with small en-suite; 1 super-king/ 2 singles bedroom with optional en-suite/family bathroom and 1 bedroom with 2 singles and cot. GROUND FLOOR - Studio with summer kitchen as upstairs less dishwasher but with freezer; laundry area; shower room; games area - ping pong, billiards, 2 car garage. OUTSIDE - Pool 3.5m x 7.5m overall depth 1.5m with wide shallow steps, serviced weekly. Barbecue and pool terrace. Shaded garden.

The picturesque mediaeval village of Cotignac is in the heart of La Provence Verte. It is almost equidistant between major centres such as Aix-en-Provence, Nice, Marseille and St. Tropez - each about one hour's drive. If you prefer a more natural envionment, there is walking or mountain biking in the pine-scented hills around Cotignac or further afield visit the breathtaking Gorges du Verdon for walking, climbing, kayaking, or bathing from the beaches on the adjacent Lac de Sainte Croix - again, no more than an hour away. Nearer to Cotignac, try free wine tasting in one of the many Cotes de Provence or Coteaux Varois vineyards - you'll find one at each end of our road! - or simply savour the local village markets, boutiques and mouth-watering restaurants.

Notes: A fully fitted 'summer' kitchen is also available downstairs in the studio adjacent to the pool terrace. It has a freezer, fridge, microwave, cooker, kettle and plenty of storage space. Very handy for preparing the salads to go with the barbecue on the pool terrace! Outdoor furniture includes table and 6 chairs and 6 sun loungers as well as parasols and small tables for those lazy pool days. There is a shaded garden to the left of the driveway.
